Thank you for the feature, LA Daily News!
I’ve personally experienced the distressing acts of hate and witnessed its ripple effect, affecting not only the victim, but also their family, friends, and the broader community. The appalling mistreatment and hostility towards the Jewish and Muslim communities are atrocious and must stop.
While my team of volunteer translators are out of state/country, I had the privilege to meet
@azadeh.afsahi in person at
@throughpeaceorg launch party. Azadeh is Iranian-American, a psychotherapist by trade, and a beautiful human being✨ She helped translate
@hatecrimebook in Farsi, which marks it’s 15th language. She intimately understands the trauma caused by hatred and, like me, actively advocates for her community’s rights and mental well-being. Education stands as our strongest tool in this fight.
Azadeh and her friend
@iamyasi , who also shared the stage with me at
@peopleschoice , will distribute both Farsi and Arabic to their respective communities. Our joint efforts transcends backgrounds, skin color, language, religion, etc. We stand united for our pursuit of peace 🤍🕊️
