Your health matters, and awareness saves lives. During National Blood Pressure Month, we’re highlighting the importance of prioritizing heart health and wellness within our communities. Did you know? Nearly 56% of Black adults in the United States have high blood pressure, one of the highest rates among any racial or ethnic group. High blood pressure can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other serious health conditions, but small lifestyle changes can make a big difference. Health and wellness remain a key pillar of the work happening throughout ThriveOn King and community. We recognize that thriving communities begin with healthy individuals and families. #NationalBloodPressureMonth #ThriveOnCollaboration #ThriveOnKing #HealthAndWellness #CommunityHealth #HealthyCommunities

Join Athena Communications on Friday, May 8 for Legacy Night, presented by Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and CopyWrite Magazine, and hosted by Lexi S. Brunson, Lafayette Crump, Don Johnson, and Jay Roby, PhD, for A Raisin in the Sun, an evening that brings together storytelling, community, and reflection. This powerful production centers on a Black family’s pursuit of homeownership, a dream rooted in dignity, opportunity, and building a future for generations to come. The story continues to resonate today, especially in communities like Bronzeville, where history, resilience, and progress are deeply connected. During Intergenerational Month, this event creates space to reflect on how dreams of home and stability are passed down, through stories, through sacrifice, and through the ongoing work to expand access and equity in housing. For ThriveOn Collaboration, housing remains a key priority area because access to quality, affordable housing is essential to community growth and long-term impact. Experience this powerful story and continue the conversation, working toward a future where the dream of home is possible for all. Purchase your tickets at /a-raisin-in-the-sun using the code LEGACY. #ThriveOnKing #ThriveOnCollaboration #ARaisinInTheSun #MilwaukeeTheatre #HousingMatters #IntergenerationalImpact #Bronzeville #CommunityLegacy

April is Financial Literacy Month, a reminder that knowledge is power, and access is everything. We believe financial literacy is a key building block for stronger communities, generational wealth, and long-term well-being. From understanding budgeting and credit to navigating homeownership and entrepreneurship, financial knowledge creates pathways to opportunity. Through our partners and resources at ThriveOn King, we’re committed to connecting community members with the tools, education, and support needed to make informed financial decisions and build a more secure future. This month, and every month, let’s continue to invest in learning, share resources, and uplift one another on the journey to financial empowerment. #FinancialLiteracyMonth #ThriveOnKing #ThriveOnCollaboration #FinancialEmpowerment #GenerationalWealth #CommunityGrowth

As we close out Women’s History Month, we honor a legacy rooted in leadership, equity, and community impact, celebrating Ardie Clark Halyard, whose name lives on within the spaces of ThriveOn King. A trailblazer in Milwaukee, Ardie Halyard co-founded with her husband one of the first African American-owned savings and loan institutions, Columbia Savings and Loan, helping open doors to homeownership and economic opportunity for Black families at a time when access was often denied. She was also the first woman to serve as president of the Milwaukee chapter of the NAACP. Her work helped lay the foundation for stronger neighborhoods, greater equity, and generational progress, values that continue to shape the vision of ThriveOn today. Her legacy reminds us that access creates opportunity. Her leadership reminds us that community investment changes lives. As we reflect on this month, we celebrate the women who have paved the way and those who continue to build, lead, and transform our communities every day. #WomensHistoryMonth #ThriveOnKing #ThriveOnCollaboration #LegacyAndLeadership #CommunityImpact #WomenWhoLead
