Yep, I bought this dress 32 years ago from a thrift store for $2.50 in 1993, shortened it with a hand-stitched hem, and it still fits! 😂 Vintage is forever.

🤔 You know how you think your efforts aren't paying off because the scale isn't moving? That had been me--cursing at the scale because for the last 2 months, I have been doing double workouts, skipping sweets, skipping alcohol...but not really seeing the scale moving...wanting to get back to the level of fitness I had 2023. It was frustrating that it wasn't happening.
But I used peri-menopause as an excuse. I stepped on the scale and thought that my body should be on MY timeline for seeing results. I thought that my 75 Hard Challenge wasn't working this time because I'm older now (48 and a half, thank you very much).
I was so wrong; my body was changing. I just couldn't see the change when all I was focused on was a stupid number on a scale. 🤬
Well, today is Day #64 of the challenge. I've not started over once. And today was the first day I saw the progress.
It's working.
Now if I can keep this going for the rest of my lifetime....

Just got back from Utah for a Duluth Trading Company photo and video shoot. I've taken solo work trips like this before, but this one was different. I feel like I grew in a way no other trip has done.
You see, after I was done shooting, I had an entire day to myself, not flying out until after 5 pm. The whole day was mine.
No work.
No kids.
No soccer practice.
No grocery trips.
No DIY projects begging for attention.
No obligations at all.
I went where curiosity took me.
From Cedar Springs to Salt Lake City......from ancient Parowan Gap's petroglyphics carved into rock...to Yuba National Park with sparkling blue water.....then off to Red Butte Gardens & Arboretum.
It was just me, a rental car, Google Maps, lots of healthy snacks, gops of coffee (some decaf), and unexpected hours of country music (new Morgan Wallen fan here! 😍).
I realized that everyone should take these trips. The world isn't as big as your backyard or patio. When we only see what's around us, what's familiar, we can lose our sense of wonder. And you don't have to go as far as Utah. You can drive over to the next city, the next town. Take a road you have never been down. Try a new restaurant. Sign up for a hobby that you never considered before.
All of these experiences teach you things about yourself, expose you to different ways of life, other ways of living. What's fascinating is that you uncover more things about who you are than what you'll ever learn by staying in your own backyard.
The 10 lessons I learned are below in the comments.

Sometimes you don't need to know what you're going to use it for; you just need to buy it! You'll figure it out later!
And I did.
I found this $8.00 thrifted glass jar that I couldn't walk away from. I didn't need another random thing in bring into my house. But it was too nice and inexpensive to walk away from.
Now I have the idea!
I'm reading a book called The Book of Alchemy: A Creative Practice for an Inspired Life. In the book, the author mentions how she was inspired by a professor who assigned her students to do 100 days of creavity. So the author decided she would journal daily. (Her daily writings ended up becoming a book, by the way).
I decided to be inspired by doing my own 100 days of creativity by using my gorgeous jar to put creative ideas inside it, drawing one per day.
My rules:
✅ 15 min minimum, daily
✅ No pressure to have it be a "start to finish" project. Just literally something that taps into my creativity.
✅ No need to film it, unless I want to. The goal is my own creative play without the pressure to post any of it.
⁉️ Want to do it, too? Give it a try and let me know how it works for you! I'll update you on my progress, too!
