We’re honored to share that The Momentary has received a 2026 USITT Architecture Merit Award!
Creatively repurposed from a 70-year-old decommissioned cheese factory in Bentonville, Arkansas, the multidisciplinary visual and performing arts venue features five flexible spaces—from indoor to outdoor, from a traditional black box to a vertical stage—where performance intentionally overlaps and co-exists with visual art, culinary experiences, and social activities.
We look forward to celebrating at the USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Long Beach, where the Architecture Awards honor outstanding performance-space design that advances innovation, collaboration, and the live-arts experience.

Rose Plots are used in acoustics to illustrate the direction, level, and timing of sound as it arrives at a listener’s ears. These elements are key when describing the sound of a room. They also look like pretty flowers! Plot courtesy of the SDM Toolbox for MATLAB.
Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕🫶🏻
Are you being haunted by Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You, Babe” on this February 2nd, Groundhog’s Day, Monday morning?
Fear not! The full audio from the 2022 Rothko Chapel opening premier is now available on DaCamera’s label as well as Apple Music and, may we say, it sounds fantastic!
And if you wake up again to Sonny & Cher on the radio... just come back here. Repeat as often as necessary.
Tomorrow, some members of our team may have limited availability as they choose to participate in the National Shutdown and associated protests. We stand with our colleagues as they engage in nonviolent civic action and reflection, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this moment as a nation. Our commitment to our clients and communities remains steadfast, even as we take time to listen, speak up, and stand up for what we believe in.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of 4:00pm winter afternoons will keep Thresholdians from their on-site work!
Sinhong Park, Tim Perez, and (behind the camera) @samkartubacoustics spend a snowy Friday testing Kahn Pavilion at Northwestern Norris Center! 📻🔊
‘Like nearly every artist who has appeared at Groton Hill since it opened in 2022, the Jennys were taken by the venue, with its soaring ceiling, natural wood and stone interior, and world-class acoustics.
“This is heaven,” Masse exclaimed’
These moments are what we live for At Threshold! Thank you for the kind words, @theartsfuse and Glenn Rifkin, and be sure to check out @thewailinjennys if you’re on the eastern seaboard!

It’s opening night at the @AssociatedBank Theater Center! The ribbon is cut, the doors are open and the incredible Bernadette Peters is ready to take the stage as we celebrate a bold new era of theater right in the heart of Milwaukee.
Welcome to our new home ❤️

Greetings from campus at University of Miami! Our Partner Tim Perez is presenting at the @frostschoolum at their weekly Music Engineering (MuE) Forum about careers in AV And Acoustics Consulting. As an alum of @univmiami , it’s always nice to come back!
Happy First of October! Are you itching for some seasonal organ music? If you’re in New York City, get yourself down to @trinitychurchnyc and experience the full body immersion of their new organ. It may not be Toccata and Fugue in D Minor but it will be epic!
Not in NYC? @nytimes has you covered with an interactive article all about it. Link in bio and congratulations to @mbbarchitects and Organ Builders Glatter-Götz. It was an incredible experience to work on this project.
Another day, another headline: research project axed, scientific program defunded, years of research vanish into political theater. You’ve probably read about those inspiring National Nature Assessment scientists who got devastating funding cuts and changed everything with a single “Call me” text, or those who ran Climate.gov pivoting, voluntarily, to a new website at Climate.us after being defunded.
Don’t give up—adapt.
Knowledge, like sound, is stubborn.

Congratulations to the @ljmusicsociety , @cygnettheatre , and the city of San Diego on the grand opening of The Joan Jacobs Music Center Opens at Liberty Station! This $76 million overhaul of a former Navy facility transformed a building originally constructed in 1940 into a state-of-the-art performing arts center - we were proud to be part of the team that included @obrarchitecture and @fisherdachs on this ambitious renovation. A big thank you to @latimes for the wonderful write up that highlighted the acoustics of the building: we had a lot of fun in our Auralization Studio for this project, capturing flyover events in San Diego and following up with additional measurements at O’Hare.
