Yesterday was my birthday, and it was also the day my world shifted forever.
I lost my mom, my business manager, my diary, my hype girl, and my number one fan. Three Trine became my full-time journey because of her, I wanted the freedom to advocate and be there for her in every way she needed.
This year, my birthday wish was to hear her tell my birth story again. Since I couldn’t, I promised I would share her story instead.
My mom had the biggest heart. She prayed for everyone, even strangers she met in passing. She went through treatments with a smile and always dressed up to feel good, no matter how hard the day was.
She passed from mucosal melanoma, a rare and aggressive cancer we fought tirelessly against.
Our motto: “We wake up and we show up.” And we did, every single day, until the very end. If pneumonia and sepsis hadn’t stepped in, we’d still be fighting.
If there’s one thing I want others to know, it’s this: when a doctor says there are no more treatment options, don’t stop searching!! I spent countless nights digging through clinical trials, research papers, and study results to make sure we never wasted time.
Because of her health, she couldn’t travel to the lower 48s for trials but thats when I discovered the FDA’s Expanded Access (Compassionate Use) pathway. This program allows patients with life-threatening conditions to access clinical trial drugs before approval and sent to your location. It isn’t widely known, but it can give families more options and time.
That’s why it’s so important to keep an open mind about clinical trials. These studies often provide access to treatments years before they’re public. For rare and aggressive cancers like my mom’s, sometimes a trial is the only doorway to hope.
We need to normalize conversations about cancer, especially as cases continue to rise. In the U.S., we are all exposed daily to chemicals that compromise our health. Melanoma is a broad disease , but mucosal melanoma is a sub-category which is different from UV-related skin melanoma. It makes up just over 1% of cases and has far fewer treatment options.

I love working with charoite. Anytime I come across it while sourcing stones, it’s a must.

It’s rare.. so when the cut is right, I already know it’s coming home with me.

Mined in Siberia, its marbled swirls are shaped by an intense climate over time. Stones like this remind me how special the earth is… how pressure of elements and time can create something this unique. ✨
