The last stop on my Toronto mini tour is to Riverdale Farm, a little slice of rural farm life in the east end of the city. I love visiting this adorable farm scape, it was a favourite destination for our family when my, now teenage, kids were little. We still go back from time to time to gaze at cows, pigs and lambs and to try to spot frogs in the marshland you can stroll to from the farm. The last time I was there I was particularly happy because I got to see a chicken cross the road! Swipe to see photographic proof of this iconic journey ๐๐๐

Allan Gardens is a lovely network of greenhouses in the heart of the city. It is overflowing with lush foliage, blossoms and cacti - there are even turtle and koi ponds to marvel at. I wind up in this gorgeous oasis whenever Toronto winters are dragging along and I'm missing brilliantly coloured flowers and warm woodland strolls.

I absolutely love the ROM and knew I wanted to include it in my newest Toronto piece, so here is my inky interpretation! Any ideas what my larger piece is? (Hint: M is for Museum)

As always, an extraordinary day at Trinity Bellwoods with @torontoartisan ! Thank you all so very much to everyone who stopped by my tent and supported my work, and to the wonderful market organizers โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
I released a brand new print in person at the market today and it flew off the shelves! To those of you who didn't snag one this afternoon, I'm not going to show you the whole piece quite yet - it will be released in my shop this Saturday. In the meantime, I'm going to take you on a little tour of Toronto as a sneak peek! Everyday this week I'll be posting a little preview of the larger piece, starting with this one: "Trinity Bellwoods", in honour of today's market. To my fellow Torontonians: who among you has ever caught a glimpse of the famous white squirrel? I have seen it twice: the first time when I was pregnant with my eldest and the second when I was pregnant with my youngest. Coincidence? Maybe, but I like to think of it as a fun fact I can share on Mother'sDay ๐. Hope all the mamas out there had an amazing day today ๐๐ผ๐ธ

I've been very inspired by the moon lately and have a couple of new moon pieces coming your way, starting with this one, my "Phases of the Moon". Each phase is represented by a different moon myth from around the world and each continent on the earth in the center is represented by a different origin myth from the corresponding region. I read and researched a whole bunch of lunar legends, chose the ones that inspired me most and created a little vignette for each. There is so much interesting folklore attached to the big glowing orb in the sky! This piece will be available in my shop soon and will be with me at all of my upcoming markets. In the meantime if you're interested in learning more about the myths I've chosen check out the "glossaries" page on my website ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

We're big Easter fans in our house, the long weekend is always filled with lots of egg painting and dying, a huge Eastern European Easter brunch (in honour of my heritage) and an epic candy hunt. We eat the real eggs we dye at brunch but every year I paint a new ceramic egg to save and add to my growing collection. Here is a peek at the newest addition to my collection as well as a quick look at some of my ceramic eggs from years gone by. Also, a little glimpse of our dying station, we added coloured foam to the mix this year. I hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend! ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐งบ
March break is in full swing and the kids and I are creating lots of art while they're off school (which I'll post a peek of later) but in the meantime here are 2 of my newest playing card mini print designs. The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs and Humpty Dumpty as the "Queen and King of Eggs". Both of these will be with me at all of my upcoming markets, which are right around the corner......how is it almost April already?!?!
