We had to make a last minute decision to bring the sheep in tonight before shearing tomorrow. It looked like the weather was on our side earlier in the day, but it started to turn towards the end of the day. It's better to be safe than sorry, I suppose.

These little balls of fluff are 8 weeks old tomorrow. Two of them are heading off to their new homes next week once they've gotten their vaccinations and are chipped.
To say that we'll miss them is an understatement. It was such a great experience for the kids and us to help raise a litter of puppies!

February on the west coast of Ireland doesn’t whisper — it roars.
The day brought everything you’d expect from a true Atlantic adventure: dramatic winds sweeping across the cliffs, bursts of golden sunshine between passing showers, muddy coastal trails underfoot, and winding country roads leading us to one of the most breathtaking ceremony spots in Ireland.
Three Castle Head is not for the faint-hearted — it’s raw, remote, and wildly romantic. The sea was crashing below, the air salty and electric, and the landscape stretched endlessly in every direction. It felt like the edge of the world.
Their ceremony unfolded against a backdrop of ancient ruins and wild Atlantic waves. Veils danced in the wind, coats were wrapped tight between showers, and every moment felt alive and real. This is what an Irish elopement is truly about — embracing the elements, leaning into the adventure, and trusting the magic of the west coast.
Yes, the trails were muddy.
Yes, the roads were winding.
Yes, the wind had its own agenda.
And it was absolutely perfect.

A mystery elopement dreamed up from afar and brought to life on the wild Atlantic coast by Eloping in Ireland. This gorgeous couple travelled all the way from Alabama on their very first trip to Ireland and were led to this magical place to express their love for one another — a true dream come true.
The weather gods were very kind on the day itself — not a drop of rain during the ceremony — but goodness, did they make us earn it 😅🌧️ The day before delivered a proper Irish welcome of torrential rain, which made the next day full of muddy trails, wild laughs, gales, and a full-blown adventure that only made the experience more unforgettable. Muddy boots, windswept hair and veils, big smiles, and memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. What a way to spend Valentine’s weekend. 💛✨

We made the most of the fine weather today and cleared the main garden bed of the last of 2025's veg, and all of the weeds. I was going to tackle all of the weeds by hand, but Lukas made light work of ot with the mini digger.
We just have to add some of our own well-rotted compost to the soil and we'll be ready to plant our spuds in a few weeks.
