Locs have been a constant in my life since 2018 but my journey with them started long before that through braids, faux locs, and experimenting with different hairstyles. When I finally committed to my first set, my hair was short, so I started with synthetic extensions. Over time, as my own hair grew, I shed the extensions and embraced my natural locs fully. What began as a personal choice quickly became something deeper. My locs have grown and changed alongside me, each phase reflecting a different chapter of my life. From bold jumbo faux locs to the finer, all-natural partial locs I wear today, every stage has been a lesson in patience, transformation, and self expression. Styling them, accessorizing them, and simply carrying them through life has been one of my greatest joys. That love for the process eventually led me to become a loctician and I’ve had the chance to work with many people, each with their own reasons for starting this journey. Some come in knowing exactly what they want, while others are just beginning to explore the possibilities. Either way, I love being part of that process, whether it’s installing, maintaining, or styling. I get to help people feel good about themselves, giving them the tools to care for their locs, and making sure they walk away feeling confident in their choice. For me, locs are definitely more than a hairstyle. They’re a strong reflection of time, commitment, experience, evolution and growth.
