(Some friends of ours joined our Executive Director, Eugene Gutierrez, for a special Steps for Life walk at a milestone celebration conference! 🎉) While the majority of our 2026 Steps for Life community walks have now wrapped up across Canada, the momentum continues. As part of our National Online Walk, an incredible group of passionate health and safety professionals came together this morning at the @bcrspoffice 50th Anniversary Conference in Niagara Falls to help give Threads of Life one more push toward another impactful campaign year. Even with the early start to the day, the energy, commitment, and heart from this amazing crew was on full display. Much respect and sincere gratitude to each of you for showing up, supporting our mission, and continuing to champion a safer future for workers and families across Canada. 👏💛

Threads of Life released the 3rd Annual #StateOfSafety 2026 Report, which reveals that while attitudes toward workplace safety remain positive, progress in reducing incidents and fatalities has stalled. The findings point to a clear gap: organizations believe in safety, but too often fail to embed it into everyday practice. While the survey has some positive signals, it does not reflect the progress we hope for in health and safety. “Awareness is not the issue, execution is,” says Eugene Gutierrez, Executive Director of Threads of Life. “We see strong belief in safety across Canada, but that belief must be reinforced through training, leadership, and culture if we want to see real change.” As we wrap up national #SafetyAndHealthWeek and go back to regular life, we'll be sharing highlights from the report. Tap the link in our bio for the full report.

Over the weekend, our Fort McMurray and Enoch teams came together to participate in the Steps for Life walk, advocating for workplace safety and supporting families affected by workplace accidents. Great job to our teams for raising over $15k, with Fort McMurray ranking top 3 in Canada and Edmonton ranking top 3 in the city! 🦺

Huge thanks to Leica for representing us today at the 5 CDSG Gagetown Annual Safety Expo! It’s one thing to talk about safety, but it’s another to show up and engage with the community to make our workplace better for everyone. We couldn't do it without dedicated volunteers like you, Leica 💛 If you're at the Expo in Gagetown today, stop by the booth, say hi to Leica, and learn more about Threads of Life!

Steps for Life — Threads of Life’s annual fundraiser walk — is more than just an event. It’s a movement. A community united in one powerful message: one [workplace tragedy] is one too many. Across the country, people come together to honour lives, support families, and stand up for safer workplaces. If you weren’t able to join a walk this year, we’d love to see you in 2027. And if you’re still looking to make an impact, consider making a donation — a simple way to remind those affected by workplace tragedy that they are not alone. Learn more or give: stepsforlife.ca
