A summer sale!
We know these are challenging times politically, socially, and economically, and that traveling can feel nonessential or even indulgent right now.
The intention behind our Thread Caravan trips has always been to build community, honor intercultural connection, support independent artists and cooperatives, and share the beauty that exists in the world. These values feel especially meaningful right now.
With that in mind, we are offering a *very rare* $350 USD discount on our June and July trips:
-Morocco Ceramic Immersion in June
-Ceramics and Textiles in Oaxaca in June
-Crafts of Colombia in July
-Oaxaca Ceramic Immersion in July
This offer applies to new reservations only and is not retroactive or valid for second trip payments. It is valid through the end of April.
Use code **SUMMERLOVIN** at checkout to receive the discount.
We hope to travel with you. đź’›

Our Peru trip through the kind and curious eyes of @luvialazo
Luvia participated in the trip last July as part of our Artisan Exchange Program. It was a privilege to host her, to introduce her to Pumaq Wasin, Juan, Elena and our other partners in Peru. To continue to bridge worlds of beauty and shared learning. Gracias Luvia. ❤️
We’ve just added another set of Peru trip dates for this August. We hope some of you are able to join us on this special experience.
A week in northern Morocco looks like this: earthen clay under your fingernails, bread still warm from the oven, mountain air moving through the studio, winding medina streets, shared meals, woven textures, and the generous presence of artisans who have shaped these traditions over lifetimes.
Our Morocco journey is an invitation to slow down and learn through making. From ceramics with Mama AĂŻcha in the Rif Mountains, to weaving in Fez, all held within the beauty and depth of this remarkable region.

Meet the Waqxaqi’kan cooperative, a group of indigenous Kaqchikel women living in the remote Guatemalan highlands. They specialize in jaspe (ikat weaving) and working with ixcaco, an heirloom cotton with a natural brown color.
The cooperative formed in 1982, as a way to support one another in response to the country’s civil war. Together, they create exquisite textiles, and also support each other as a family.
We have been partnering with the Waqxaqi’kan cooperative since our very first trip in 2015, sharing meals, watching their children grow, and of course admiring beautiful textiles together. Here, our groups learn an overview of backstrap weaving while having the opportunity to try spinning heirloom cotton.
Registration is currently open to join us this October in Guatemala.

This is what a week in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia looks like, being guided by las Cholitas Escaladoras, the indigenous Aymara women who know these mountains intimately and guide our group with ease.
Three final spaces remain to join us on this epic adventure in July 2026.
I am still overwhelmed sorting through India photos but I had a roll of film developed from a camera I borrowed from @leicauk and these were the highlights. Blockprinting with @threadcaravan x @wabisabiproject in Bagru, Feb this year 🧵❤️ thanks for having me again @caitlin.garcia.ahern and thank you @photolabohibi for the scans! #leicamp
ONE SPACE (!) has just opened to join us in Ladakh this August.
This 10 day trip is for the person who appreciates raw and rugged beauty, who is comfortable camping for two nights in the cold if it means being able to hike with nomadic shepherds and their yak. The person who wants to spend slow days at the gorgeous @we_are_kal studio, patiently attuning to the pace of creativity as we spin, dye and weave with native fibers.
And even more special… during this trip we’ll be inviting two of our partners from Kutch, India to attend as participants, as part of our Artisan Exchange Program. An opportunity for further learning and cultural exchange for our whole group. ✨

Thread Caravan Morocco. Hands covered in the earthen clay from the Rif mountain soil. A meandering medina path, lit with the day’s last sunlight. Writing postcards on the train. Fresh baked bread from the clay oven. The rich colors and smells of an ancient leather tannery. Being serenaded on the roof. A patient kind of beauty, the kind that takes generations to take form.
Join us here in the Rif mountains this year, registration is open on our website.
