A mistake wonāt lose the customer. How you handle it might.
Customer care is one of the biggest reasons people stay loyal to a business, but it is also one of the easiest things to get wrong when things get busy.
In this clip from Built Not Born in Business, Helen talks about why customers often do not leave because of price. They leave because the experience starts to feel transactional, careless, or like they no longer matter.
Every business will make mistakes. Orders go wrong, timelines slip, things get missed. But the way a business owns those mistakes, communicates with the customer, and puts things right is what builds real trust.
For business owners, this is such an important reminder. Great customer service is not just about being perfect. It is about caring enough to take responsibility when things are not.

Workwear has a much bigger impact on staff morale than many people realise.
Itās often the little things that make the biggest difference.
A warm coat when somebodyās working outside in winter, a hoodie that actually fits properly, work trousers people can move comfortably in, different options depending on the role they do.
It sounds simple⦠but people notice when a business genuinely thinks about their teams comfort.
We had a conversation recently with Andrew Hulbert about engineers working on rooftops in the rain. He highlighted that if someoneās cold, uncomfortable and wearing poor-quality workwear, theyāre naturally going to dread doing that job.
When people feel properly equipped, comfortable and looked after⦠its proven to change how they feel about work.
Too many businesses still see uniforms as, āJust stick everyone in the same thing.ā But good workwear should support the individual person wearing it and their job role.
Different teams need different solutions. Warehouse teams donāt work the same way as sales teams, customer-facing staff need different options to on-site engineers.
When businesses get that right, it doesnāt just improve appearance, it improves confidence, comfort and culture too.
Thatās why at Thread A Pixel weāve always tried to focus on the people behind the uniform, not just the easiest option for us to stock.

Andrew Hulbert made a brilliant point about uniforms on our podcast.
He founded and ran Pareto, a facilities management company with around 500 staff, absolutely knows what heās talking about when it comes to choosing the right workwear for teams.
He made a really interesting point about uniforms when he came on our podcast Built Not Born in Business.
He spoke about when he was younger and wearing trousers that were so tight he was worried they were going to split every time he bent down, sounds funny, but it actually highlights a massive issue we still see today with workwear.
Too many businesses still think everyone can wear the same thing, but people arenāt built the same.
Different job roles need different garments and different people feel comfortable in different fits.
If somebody feels uncomfortable, self-conscious or restricted in what theyāre wearing all day at work, it affects them, and not in a good way.
Andrew also spoke about how some of the best feedback he got from staff at Pareto came from simply giving them the right clothing and equipment to do their jobs comfortably.
Thatās something weāve always believed at Thread A Pixel too.
Good workwear should make your team feel comfortable, confident and proud to represent the business⦠not desperate to take it off the second they get home š¤£

A bit of a different twist on the Built Not Born In Business podcast this weekā¦
Usually, Chris and I are the ones asking the questions, but over a glass of wine one evening, Kim had the idea to turn the tables alongside the wonderful Andrew Hulbert.... we were't sure but thought, why not!
We met them both last year and theyāve become very special people to us, not just professionally, but as genuine friends too.
When we first started our business, we never really thought about the relationships that would come from it all. You think about the work, the growth, the pressure and the risk⦠but not necessarily the friendships you make along the way.
Founders really are a different breed, and a huge reason we wanted to start our own podcast was to help people in similar positions feel a little less alone on their journey.
Thereās something quite powerful about speaking openly with people who have, and are living it. The highs, the stress, the overthinking, the excitement, the control freak tendencies š all of it.
This episode turned into a very honest conversation about life, business, why we do what we do, what frustrates us, what we love⦠and somehow, after all these years of working together, how we still actually like each other too.
Probably one of our most open episodes yet.
And with the tables turned, what natural hosts Kim and Andrew were too. We absolutely loved it (in the end!) so thank you both.
The episode goes live today at 12:30pm.
You can subscribe to be the first to know when new episodes are released.

A branded gilet is one of those pieces that just works, practical, comfortable, and smart enough for everyday wear. Itās the kind of item your team will actually reach for, which means your branding is being seen consistently without it feeling forced.
From an educational point of view, layering is a big part of good workwear strategy. A gilet allows flexibility ..it keeps the core warm while leaving arms free, making it ideal for busy, hands-on roles. When you combine that with clean, high-contrast embroidery like this, youāve got something that looks professional but also performs in real working environments.
Another key thing here is placement and consistency. Keeping the logo in the same position across garments helps build recognition over time. Itās subtle, but it makes a big difference in how your brand is perceived.
If youāre thinking about upgrading your teamās workwear or want to make sure it actually works for your business, feel free to drop us a message, always happy to help you get it right š

This is a great example of how effective workwear comes down to the small decisions. Itās not just about putting a logo on a garment, itās about making sure itās applied in a way that actually works.
The use of colour here is key. Strong contrast against darker fabrics keeps everything clear and easy to read, even from a distance. That visibility matters more than people realise.
Thereās also a real benefit in keeping everything consistent across different pieces. Matching polos, fleeces and outerwear means your team always looks put together, no matter the environment.
That kind of consistency helps build recognition over time. And when people start to recognise your brand, it naturally builds trust.
Workwear like this isnāt just part of the uniform, its part of your brand.

Built, not born... and itās harder than it looks
From the outside, business success often looks clean and effortless. But behind the scenes, itās a very different story.
In this clip, we talk about the reality of building something from nothing , the pressure, the persistence, and the constant problem-solving that comes with it.
Itās not just about big wins. Itās about showing up consistently, learning as you go, and pushing through when things donāt work the first time.
Because success in business isnāt given. Itās built over time, through effort, resilience, and a willingness to keep going.

Really love how these have come out š
Thereās something about clean, well-thought-out branding on workwear that just elevates everything. Itās not loud or over the top, just simple, sharp and done properly.
These polos for @enhancemobilitygroup are a great example of that. Clear logo placement, strong contrast and garments that are practical for everyday wear.
A lot of people overlook how important workwear is when it comes to branding. But itās often one of the first things people notice. When your team looks consistent and professional, it instantly builds trust before a word is even spoken.
Itās also one of the easiest ways to keep your brand visible. Whether your team are out on-site, meeting clients, or just moving around day to day, your workwear is constantly representing your business.
And the best part... Itās working for you all day, every day without you even thinking about it.
Always nice seeing a project come together like this š
