For this new season with @fri_son we’re back to rasterizing the raster in silkscreen! For this season, there isn’t just one poster but two, with switched colors between the first and second halves of the season. Huge thanks to @duo_d.art for their patience and expertise.

Halle Nord is an independent contemporary art space located on Geneva’s only natural island, along the Rhône. With a long-standing presence in the city’s cultural landscape, @halle_nord_geneve is entering a new chapter under the direction of @lammerelise who commissioned us to create a new identity reflecting the institution’s evolving mission.
The visual identity embraces a contemporary language inspired by the legacy of 20th-century social and universalist utopias—ideals that remain central to the institution’s vision.
The star functions as a point of convergence and a shelter for artistic practices, echoing Halle Nord’s singular location in Geneva’s. It invites multiple interpretations: as a guiding star, a reference to the movement of water, or a symbol of gathering and orientation.
The identity was deployed across a wide range of formats, from printed matter to signage and spatial applications. The project includes adaptable templates were also designed for curatorial documents, stationery (with business cards printed in letterpress by Bahnofstrasse), and social media, ensuring consistent communication across print and digital platforms.

The star functions as a point of convergence and a shelter for artistic practices, echoing Halle Nord’s singular location in Geneva’s. Its interpretation remains open and multiple, resonating at once as a guiding light, an evocation of water’s movement, or a symbol of gathering and orientation.
The identity was deployed across a wide range of formats, from printed matter to signage and spatial applications. The project also includes the design of a website, developed by @noncitizenworld , which will feature soon a structured archive system documenting Halle Nord’s exhibitions and activities.

We designed the exhibition catalogue for Jardin d’Hiver #3—DECORAMA, an exhibition held at the Musée cantonal des beaux-arts de Lausanne @mcbalausanne and curated by @lammerelise . Gathering a group of contemporary artists working with ornament and decoration as critical tools, the exhibition explores questions of taste, class, and gender—rooted in a local tradition tied to the history of applied and decorative arts in the canton of Vaud.
Beyond the editorial design, we developed a visual essay with a sequence of images in which ornament takes on a central role. No longer relegated to embellishment, ornament is presented as an autonomous, expressive, and meaningful form. Traditionally used to accompany or enhance textual or pictorial content, here ornament becomes the subject itself. By removing what it would typically decorate, its presence gains agency—it exists for itself, through visual strength, rhythm, and density.
The image sequence brings together a wide range of ornamental forms sourced from printed media, spanning multiple centuries, regions and visual cultures: from Quranic manuscripts and medieval illuminations to Edo-period Japanese illustration books, 1970s American counterculture publications, skate or even teen magazines. Ornament, in this context, becomes the message.
