Ever wondering how we could work together this year? Here’s what I can do for artists and oddballs, located mostly in the Pittsburgh area right now, but I’m definitely up to travel.

Lots of artists avoid getting branding photos done because they think they have to leave their studio to do it. Is that your reason? Then we should chat about my Artist Branding Session because, I come to your studio and photograph what you’re already doing - your process, your space, your actual work day. Comment “This is me" if you want to learn more about this type of session and how it can help with your applications for artist grants and residencies.

The @pittsburgh48hfp kicked off tonight at PNC Theater at @pointparku and I was there to capture it again as the event’s photography sponsor. The photos from tonight are up in the gallery for this Spring’s events! But you can check out a few of my favorite shots from tonight AND photos of the required element screens for this year. Break a leg everyone! Hope to see you at the Best of Screening!

Ever wonder how I edit it my photos for events? Majority of my editing for events is done in Lightroom. When I can I do a mix of batch editing if it works for a set of photos, but a lot of work I do is across various lighting situations. That means I usually end up having to make adjustments by hand on each photo.

Just got home for today Headshot Marathon at @magichour.creative ! Can’t wait for you to see the photos from the day. We were so busy I forgot to film, but I did get a few clips of me photographing @pghfourthwall against one of the custom backdrops that @magichour.academy teens hand painted and designed! Big thanks to @magichour.creative for the space! And a big thank you to @sfxfenix for doing makeup!

Day 5 of unemployment…time to be a little bit destructive and start inching back in to some of the stuff I liked to do. Which includes sewing.

So it’s been a weird weekend… I had a photoshoot on Saturday and I also had a lot of emotions because the part-time job that has kept the roof over my head for the past five years, laid me off without warning at the beginning of May 1. This is the first time I got around to recording anything and it’s May 4. So I guess May the force be with me cause I need it this month. I haven’t really processed anything yet that’s the goal for this week… But I have no idea what the rest of my life is gonna look like so I guess follow me along on that journey cause we’re gonna figure it out at the same exact time.

For artists, strong photography is really about showing your process and highlighting what makes your work unique. Here’s what that does for you: ✔ helps you feel more confident about applying for opportunities ✔ gives you consistent images to use across your website and socials so that when residencies inevitable snag a photo from your website without tell you, it's a photo you love ✔ helps people actually understand what you d and trust that your work is real and not AI ✔ gives you photos you can use everywhere without overthinking it Which of these would make the biggest difference for you? Tell me below 👇

"But I don't wanna leave my studio to get photos taken?" You don't have to, I'll come to you! Hi, I’m Lauryn, and I help artists and oddballs stand out when applying for major opportunities like grants, residencies, and exhibitions by creating lifestyle images showing your real process in your actual studio space. Because yeah, you can set up a phone and get some half decent shots, but trying to photograph yourself AND get work done AND have the photos look good is nearly impossible. Here’s what lights me up about this work: Getting to make people look bad-ass though my photography and helping people make a living from their art. Plus, I get to learn about all the different kinds of artistic processes. And as an AuDHD, former Quiz Bowl kid, more random info makes my brain happy. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me: - boxing at a swordfighting school (second photos is me shooting an event at said school) - trying to learn how to cook from scratch - learning to paint on glass or trying my hand at watercolors - watching Critical Role or Dimension 20 If we haven’t met yet, drop an emoji or say hey and let me know what kind of artist you are and where you're located! If we have met before who's your favorite artist? (Besides yourself.)

Hey Pittsburgh followers, Do you know any local artists that do unique work and could use updated marketing photos shot in their studio space? I’m want to spend most of my summer shooting Artist Branding Sessions which means I need to diversify the type of art and artists shown in the marketing materials for these shoots, including some more unique genres of art, Im just not sure where to find some of these artists. I’m offering only 3 discounted artist branding sessions. It’ll be about 40 to 50% off what the price is starting out as this summer. A few of the types of artists I’d like to work with are: - cobbler - painters - Miliner (hatmaker) - architects - Sculptor - Printermaker - jewelry maker - metalsmith - chefs These are relax lifestyle session shot in the artist’s studio space. (You can learn more on the website.) If you know, someone who would benefit from this type of shoot, please spread the word. If you’re one of those kinds artists, feel free to DM me if you want to learn more. Reminder, I’m only picking 3 people for this reduced session rate and the sessions have to be shot sometime in May or June.
