Charnel Ground presents: A Crude Transmissions Fundraiser On the 10th of may we'll head back to ACU in Utrecht for an evening of noise, heavy electronics and drone with: The [Law-Rah] Collective: The [law-rah] collective is a (mostly) utrecht-based collective of artists led by Bauke van der Wal. They work with words, sounds, rhythm, structure, chaos and anything they can get their hands on. In the field of electronic music active since 2001, but the first seeds were planted in 1993. Kamloops: Steffan de Turck mainly works with field recordings from different origins which are edited, layered and processed into sound collages. Since the early 2000s he has been creating, performing and releasing music under the monikers of staplerfahrer and Kamloops. Geseling: Focused and densely textured harsh noise combining scrap metal, field recordings, feedback and electromagnetic interference. Thom Floris: Thom Floris is a sound artist and part of Enschede's Black Brick collective. His process mainly involves sampling memetic tropes and utilizing further DSP (Digital Signal Processing) in order to create blithering and frantic compositions Uitgeschakeld: Highly focused and harsh textures by Utrecht's own Casper van der Veen (Radical Vitality). 16.08.25: Show announcement: Thom Floris has been added to the bill for this saturday's show at Vera in Groningen as Sisto Rossi unfortunately had to cancel his performance. "Thom Floris is an experimental sound artist, his process mainly involves sampling memetic tropes and utilizing further DSP (Digital Signal Processing) in order to create blithering and frantic compositions." Thom is no stranger at Charnel Ground events and most recently supported John Wiese at OCCII and performed at this year's edition of Crude Transmissions in Leiden. Charnel Ground presents: John Wiese (US), Secret(e), Hesker & Thom Floris On the 21st of may Charnel Ground will return to OCCII, Amsterdam to present an evening of noise, musique concrete & digital cut-up with: John Wiese (US): John Wiese is an artist and composer from Los Angeles, California. His ongoing projects include LHD and Sissy Spacek, but is known for his collaborations with many artists as diverse as Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, Merzbow, Aaron Dilloway, Smegma, Kevin Drumm, Cattle Decapitation, and C. Spencer Yeh as well as his work as a solo artist. He has toured extensively throughout the world, covering Europe, Scandinavia and Australia as a member of Sunn O))), the UK as part of the Free Noise tour (a tentet including Evan Parker, C. Spencer Yeh, Yellow Swans, etc.), the United States alongside Wolf Eyes, and recently performed in the 52nd Venice Biennale with artist Nico Vascellari. While releasing albums on a variety of international labels, Wiese often releases work on his own label, Helicopter. Secret(e): Kevin Jansen (Svartvit, Coma Cluster, etc..) is an sound artist based in Den Haag, NL. Exploring the boundaries of sound & performance since 2009. Especially interested in the innerworld of objects & bodies, brought to the surface through contact microphones & extreme amplification. Sculpting corporeal sonic landscapes that pulsate with raw intensity. Through extensive manipulation acoustic sounds are held captive in the liminal space between their point of origin & grotesque indecipherable slabs of distortion. Hesker: Raw, analog exploration of sonic abrasion, utilising archaic tape machinery to distort and fracture reality. Thom Floris: Sampling memetic tropes and utilizing further DSP (Digital Signal Processing) in order to create blithering and frantic compositions. In the first and second weekend of december, I'll be presenting my new automated theatre play titled Hierophant. The play acts as the middle part of a trilogy, which I've been working towards realizing for the last couple of years. Hope to see you there!
