Throwback Thursday: B&W Portraits
These are some of my favorite portraits that I've captured from the past couple of years. Every single one tells a story, some inferred by the image itself, and some details that contextualize the making of each photo at that given moment. I've had fun re-editing these in Black & White, and it shows how much I've grown as a photographer,Editor, and storyteller. There will be more to come from this style as well, as very soon, you're going to see a plethora of diversity!
The gateway represents the enterance into a new place. Sometimes you have to leave something behind in order to get there. I've always wanted to travel, and throughout time, I've embarked on many voyages, but this one is my most adventurous yet. This next journey will chronicle, in part, the journey to a new life. You'll see different versions of me, and as I travel further, it leaves me speechless, and then it turns me into a better storyteller.
"There is a kind of magicness about going far away and then coming back all changed." - Kate Douglass Wiggin
I truly started in my voyage to Los Angeles in 2023, and I return changed, and then in 2024, I meandered on my path to truly find who I am, and in 2025, I committed to find and build my new life once more. Along the way, I met countless people from all over the world, and each person has a story they want to share. So as time goes on, I'll also share those pieces, too. Stay tuned, because there's always more when you explore. π
Peregrination: Continuum
Now we're moving along the year, and so much has happened. I recovered nicely since my college tenure and might in some ways "de-aged." Now I'm embracing what life has to offer and explore even more than I have ever before. So, what's next? You just have to wait and see.
Peregrination: It's a journey, especially a long or meandering one.
This is a photo collage of mine one year post grad. There were many more moments captured that I wanted to include, but these highlight some of my favorite events. I've met so many great people in my work and learned a great deal of knowledge and wisdom from them.
It's people like them that allow me to make an impact, and I'm forever grateful.
1 year ago today, I embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to watch my 1st total eclipse at Niagara Falls. I was lost during this time in my life as I was about to graduate university and figure out what to do next. This meant a lot for me to see and was symbolic of moving forward, and I'm glad that despite the weather, I got to witness this with my own eyes. A total eclipse of the heart.
These are just some of the photos I took during this time, and there are many more that I'll share eventually. π
Thank you for this astonishing and miraculous opportunity! π¦
I would like to thank you all who joined me on this journey of exploration and fulfillment at this stage of my life. I can't believe it started from losing myself during covid - and quite literally getting back on my feet - to traveling, exploring, and doing many great things with amazing people.
Creating my own path on this journey has led me to experience many hidden gems, new wonders, the vast possibilities of life itself, as well as coming to terms of what life could be for myself, only defined by ever growing change of my character and circumstances. Part of the journey is the end, and now, we have arrived.
I kept thinking to myself, "The path may not be easy, but let it be fulfilling," and for these past 4 years, there was never a dull moment that led up to this point. The memories will stick with me forever, and I'll take them with me through this new stage of life. I love you all, and I will miss you all dearly, forevermore. β€οΈ
Bon voyage, au revoir. β΅οΈπ¨βπππ¦
