@seattlejazzfellowship tonight to catch some wisdom from Julian Priester! He’ll tell you how it IS while sharing a little of the past as well. 7:30 pm, it’s free - come hang! Steve Griggs does a fantastic job moderating. Local Jazz musicians - to my knowledge, this is the only member of Duke Ellington’s orchestra living in our community. He’s the only Jazz Messenger in the area. He’s the only person who toured with Herbie Hancock, Max Roach, Ray Charles, Dinah Washington, Sun Ra, Dave Holland, and scores of others in our community. Take advantage of this very rare resource in our midst! His knowledge of the music, how to be an artist in the music, how to stay contemporary during a long career as a performer, and how to persevere is likely much deeper than what you learned in music school or from any teacher. Plus he’s nice! Come get a lesson! Learn something new or affirm something you hold close.
