“We couldn’t think of a better cover to start the year with – a beautifully curated and chic project from a true master, Thomas Hamel. Everyone talks about creating signature interiors, and Thomas’s work for his clients goes beyond bespoke, working so closely on art and furniture selection to make their ultimate home aspirations a reality. Entering our cover house is like entering a world you would never want to leave.”
I’m so proud of the @thomashamel team for their dedication and passion is bringing these truly marquee projects to life.
2026 is off to a stellar start!
A sense of refined beachside living runs throughout this Sydney Harbour home. In the bedroom, we balanced a custom fabric bedhead with a wood-clad, white ceiling -softness and texture coming together to
create a space that feels calm and deeply connected to its setting.
Amazing to see our Melbourne project featured in the current issue of @bellemagazineau , on news stands today! Thank you as always to @ms.tanyabuchanan and her team and we cannot wait to share more of this home over the coming weeks.
REPOST: On our cover this month: This showstopper by Thomas Hamel is a masterclass in elegance, evoking sunny European summers. “We were inspired by the relaxed glamour of St Tropez and the understated sophistication of Parisian apartments, with parquet floors and a thoughtful mix of antiques and bold modern art, with marble and aged bronze for texture, warmth and character,” says the delighted owner. C’est magnifique!

Through these living rooms, cohesion is everything. Even in a palette of natural, earthy tones, each texture and detail is layered with intention - creating warmth
and a rhythm that keeps every space alive and inviting.
A sofa doesn’t have to hide in neutrals to feel timeless, sometimes colour is the defining note. Here, a richly hued piece lifts the mood, ‘pops’ beautifully against
textures and art and gives the room its unmistakable personality.
With the landscape crafted by @dangarbarinsmith , this home transcends the ordinary. Ancient boulders,
layered native canopy, sweeping coastal views, and
sculptural details are seamlessly woven into the
property, creating a dialogue between architecture and landscape - a celebration of nature’s enduring presence.

This entertainment room was conceived as a distinct departure from the home’s prevailing timber and stone palette - a more intimate, cocooned retreat within
the wider architecture.
Layered rich materials, enveloping tones and tactile finishes create a space that feels engaging and deeply
atmospheric. It’s designed to invite conversation and encourage people to linger and play.
Delighted to see the VL50 Awards so beautifully captured in the current issue of @vogueliving It was an unforgettable evening, thank you for the honour of Interior Designer of the Year. We feel incredibly grateful to have been part of such a special night, surrounded by the extraordinary talent shaping design in this country 👏 @beccaratti@mobilia_@cassinaofficial@sansandao@yeongsassall
In Vaucluse, the view set the tone from the start. For us the interiors weren’t about competing with it - they were about framing and elevating what was already extraordinary.
Senior Associate @mrbrendanguy is in England this week studying the craft of Chinoiserie.
Beginning today at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, a considered programme of stately house visits, lectures, and behind-the-scenes access to some of the country’s most remarkable interiors awaits.
