Designed by Jan van Krimpen, who also drew the printer’s logo and printed by Joh. Enschedé at Haarlem.
During the German occupation, paper was rationed and for small jobs printers were allowed ‘five pounds’ (2,5 kg) of paper without a special authorization. The 5PP illegaly produced small books in limited amounts.

Huib offers his services as a bookdesigner, this booklet is a promotional publication.
Son of Jan van Krimpen, Huib became one of the Netherlands’ best bookdesigners and did publish- in the 1960s - ‘Boek over het maken van boeken’.
This copy belonged to Frans de Jong, my mentor. After his death his wife Lida gave it to me.

Three times was I invited to the dinners of this very ancient and very British club. I still have the menu’s tucked away somewhere . . .
Dada in Amsterdam. Friday morning saw the last print run; an ‘accent aigu’ in red on the ‘e’ of ‘Piétro’. The forme was prepared last night and as we only had to print 15 copies, we hand-inked.
In the afternoon, Margarete folded and hand stitched the journals.
All the type was distributed before lunch, and this mean that we said goodbye by 15:00.
The week flew by, Margarete will soon be on her way back and on to the next ‘station’ on her ‘Walz’.
