Incredibly happy to share that Anthony Chen’s We are all Strangers 我們不是陌生人 that I co-scored with the talented Kin Leonn during the second half of 2025 has just been announced as part of the main competition at the upcoming @berlinale , competing for the prestigious Golden Bear and being the very first Singaporean film to do so in 76 years of existence of the festival.

Saturday at the 台北電影節 Taipei Film Festival award ceremony, our film Stranger Eyes garnered two prizes out of its five nominations: I received the award for Best Original Score and, immediately after, Lee Kang Sheng (李康生) was called on stage for the award for Best Supporting Actor. Earlier, Gerald Wen’s Side A: A Summer Day (A面：我的一天), a witty, delicate fiction narrating the director childhood as the son of a single, immigrant mother in Taiwan, took home the award for Best Short Film. I am very proud to have scored this little jewel. One of the very moving moment of the evening was Wanlop Rungkumjad accepting the award for Best Leading Actor for his role in Mongrel. This film is by far the most powerful piece of cinema I have seen last year and his presence in it contributed so much to it. Amongst the films I didn’t manage to watch during these two busy weeks and am very eager to catch up as soon as I can are EEL (河鰻) and Island of the Winds (大風之島). I heard they will be hitting the cinemas in Taiwan before the end of the year. I really can’t wait!
