Political commentator Ben Rhodes summed up the situation: “In the best case scenario, Trump struck a deal to reopen a Strait that was open before the pointless war he started, with [Iran] demonstrating its control over the Strait and potentially extracting fees plus sanctions relief. Thousands of innocents—including hundreds of children-dead in Lebanon and Iran for no reason. U.S. troops killed and wounded. U.S. embassies and bases in the Middle East badly damaged. U.S. standing in the world obliterated. U.S. munitions badly depleted. Hundreds of billions spent. Prices up everywhere. More global economic fallout to come. Putin strengthened and enriched. Just a catastrophic situation even in the best of circumstances. A profoundly shameful episode in American history no matter what happens next.”
Easily one of the most creative cleverly, amazingly well done Broadway productions I’ve ever seen. Ever! So amazing in every respect. Concept, execution, musical score, performances. Perfect! Such a touching, poignant story.
An absolutely beautiful song. A welcome respite from these insensitive, distressing times here in America right now.
Earth, On a Good Day
The Vernon Spring
“Another day on plant earth
And here’s some words for
what’s it’s worth
I think about you everyday
Just how it was and what became
You close your eyes
And years go by
You close your eyes
And years go by
You close your eyes and years go by
The endless nights
We’re we both cried
The weeds grew thick
And strangled love
Now empty spaces
We fill up (again)
With words anew
And actions thick
With words anew
And actions thick
Let’s slow things down
It’s all took quick
This life
This life
This life
Of ours
It’s all too short
The road to far...
The road seems long
But check the view
The road seems long
But check the view
We change our minds
New points of view
I don’t know what, I’m
seeking out
But give me time
I’Il work it out...(believe)
Keep hope alive
It’s-all-we-got...
Keep hope alive
It’s all we got...
Keep lovers close
Tie them in knots
Keep friendships tight
They need you near
It’s fragile times
For fragile minds...
I fear
Although the storm seems
ever close
Although the storm seems
ever close
It’s thoughts of you
That heal the most
I’m simply flawed
Mistakes galore
I know myself
I’ll make some more (believe)
Another day on planet earth
Another day, another dawn
We just clocked eyes
Instant amore
What’s wrong with me
That was my chance
Instead you leave
I don’t, advance
Stay for awhile...
Stay for awhile
Please, stay for awhile“
