Rehearsals are underway at LSO St Luke's with Thomas Adès ahead of tomorrow’s concert — featuring Sibelius’ incredible Symphony No 6. Full of shimmering textures and quiet intensity, this symphony reveals Sibelius at his most mysterious and poetic. 🎟️ Join us live tomorrow at the Barbican and experience it for yourself. #LondonSymphonyOrchestra

Such a memorable first night of Lucerne Festival Pulse at the @kklluzern ! @vikingurolafsson joined forces with the @mahlerchamberorchestra and @thomasades to perform no less than three piano concertos by Ravel, Kurtág, and Pärt. We also got to hear the Swiss premiere of the extended version of Adès' "America – A Prophecy", featuring Anna Dennis and the @mdr_klassik Rundfunkchor. But the secret stars of the evening were the 100 metronomes who performed Ligeti's "Poème symphonique" at the start of the concert. Photos © Patrick Hürlimann / Lucerne Festival

Ahead of this weekend’s @bostonsymphony performances, @thomasades spoke with @bkmccreath about why it felt necessary to pair his composition “Aquifer” with Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony. Hear both pieces LIVE tomorrow night at 8pm, and hear the full conversation on classical.org 🍃
