Yesterday I finished reading this deliciously clever and funny book by @alessandra_ranelli - it's a steamy love-letter to golden age detective fiction, classy and hilarious in equal measure, combining nostalgic tropes with unexpected twists. Holmes and Poirot remain stoically asexual while they investigate their cases, but this book celebrates sexuality and diversity whilst telling a very compelling story. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Back on Instagram very briefly, just to thank the lovely booksellers at @librairie_le_pied_a_terre
I dropped by with my parents earlier today and they were nice enough to let me sign a few copies of ROYAUME EN PERIL (they even recommended a couple of restaurants that we should go to!) And LOOK AT THIS WINDOW DISPLAY! Booksellers are the most wonderful people on the planet and I won't hear any argument to the contrary.
As far as I know these are the only signed copies of the French edition, so get them while they're hot. Thanks again to @editions_bourgois for bringing my work to French readers and for putting together such a beautiful edition.
The French response to Perilous Times (aka Royaume en Peril) has been incredible. The cover is beautiful, I've had some very kind reviews, and it's been wonderful seeing it in bookshop windows all over France ☺️ Thanks to @amelie.dor and the whole team at @editions_bourgois as well as Thibaud Eliroff who did the heroic work of translating it into French.
I really enjoyed the launch party for TIDEBORN, the wonderful new underwater fantasy extravaganza by @elizachanwrites - as you can see, I drew a horrible whale and got locked out of the building, but also had a lovely time.
Embarking upon a new circumnavigation of my favourite book series. Also featured - a strong visual argument against all of these horrible skyscrapers that they keep throwing up.
