The first taste we got of #ThomasWeatherall was on the coming-of-age drama #HeartbreakHigh, but 2025 saw him dive headfirst into much darker subject matter. Starring opposite #JacobElordi in the adaptation of āNarrow Road to the Deep Northā, the stirring war drama landed with widespread acclaim. As did Weatherallās scene-stealing performance.
Making Narrow Road āchanged my lifeā, Actor of the Year @thomas.weatherall tells GQ, and working with Australian director Justin Kurzel also shifted his worldview. āHe brought the best out of me and showed me what I was capable of. Yes, as an actor, but more importantly as a person.ā
Now itās onto what the 25-year-old Kamilaroi man from Rockhampton calls āother forms of creative labourā. Already Weatherall has dabbled in playwriting, and he describes his hoped-for 2026 trajectory with a single word: experimental.

EXPOSURE - OUT NOW ON STAN
This show is beautiful and bloody brutal, please go show it some love. Take care watching it. I needed to make this show. It came to me at a very specific time in my life, and Iām eternally grateful they trusted me with Angus. We desperately need to talk about mental health and abuse in this country. Shows like Exposure are necessary, to help people be seen, and to enlighten others who need to listen.
