Some views of my current exhibition “disappearing in the dark” at @ooekunstverein - there will be a finissage and artist talk on the 4th of July. Come by and say hi! Thanks for the lovely photographs to @vio.vio.photography
Join us next week in Berlin as we kick off the new year with the great folks from @bildband.berlin , @thomas.bergner and his recently released monograph You are all I see. Definitely stop by if you have the chance, chat with us and have a drink!
Thomas Bergner’s You are all I see opens up a visual world in which silence does not mean quietness, but rather a vibrant presence. His photographs carry a fragile tension within them — between restraint and intensity, between what is revealed and what is concealed. Beauty is not exhibited here, but rather hinted at, tentatively, almost fleetingly.
The black-and-white images are much less a mere observation rather than a dialogue. They follow the flow of light through gloomy landscapes and their finest structures. In this ongoing conversation with what is seen, closeness emerges: The motif is not merely an object, but a counterpart.
Thus, You are all I see invites us to engage in a perception that does not seek clarity. Instead, a space of resonance opens up in which we — as viewers — become part of the quiet movement that is spread throughout Bergner’s images.
