Big news for CDI ✨
Chicana Director’s Initiative is stepping into a new chapter and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
Armida Lopez, Jazmin Aguilar and Leonora Anzaldua are now leading CDI.
New chapter. Same heart. BIGGER VISION.
We’re grateful for the foundation that’s been built and committed to expanding opportunities for Latina Directors and Cinematographers while continuing to create space for connection and collaboration.
This is just the beginning!
I met Jazmin in art school, and we’ve been creating alongside each other ever since. Could not be more proud to call this powerhouse my friend.

“Oh the places I’ll go” ass look.
I’m alive friends and with that, here’s a little check in 🌱Lately I’ve been feeling very fortunate and blessed so to speak. I’ve been stacking my slate with projects that not only challenge me creatively but also resonate with the person I’ve become. As I get older I’m truly appreciating the beauty of growth and the journey ahead. Holistically not just creatively.
Excited to share what’s been brewing soon and can’t wait to see all your beautiful faces again. 💗
It’s hard for me to come to terms that she’s gone. Having never lost anyone before this one really hurts. My grandma passed away this morning at 12:29am. I’m so happy that our whole family was present to see her as she passed. She’s such a fighter she made sure to make it to make her 59 anniversary with my grandpa today. The top of this year started like a nightmare and following 6 months have felt like the longest goodbye. It hurts so much to say goodbye, and still wishing I could’ve done more. I ultimately am just happy she’s no longer in pain and in a much better place.
I love you grandma, you were a second mom to me. So funny, loving and such a character. I’ll always love you so much.
Throwing it back to the first ever @latinofilmmakers Reading & Industry Workshop Series, where we got to do a live read for my script Devil Hours. It was my first time doing any kind of table read, let alone a live one!
Thank you to everyone who came out to watch this silly little story. It meant the world to me seeing all your faces and hearing your laughs. I initially wrote this script for therapeutic reasons, but it quickly turned into such a blast to write. MAJOR shout out to my amazing cast for bringing the story to life.

And a huge thank you to @latinofilmmakers for always supporting me. 💫🧟♀️🖤
Huge shoutout to @nfmla for the incredible honor of nominating Kid Ugly for Best Comedy Short, Best Comedy Performance, and Best Sound Design! NFMLA hosted the L.A. premiere of Kid Ugly last year, and as someone who is born and raised in L.A. it was an absolute dream come true to screen amongst my family and friends. I also wanna shout out NFMLA dedication in supporting filmmakers and giving back to the community. Thank you for believing in my vision and for this incredible recognition of our cast and crews talented work! 🙏
