The 2026 Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project will award certificates for Best Poster and Best Trailer at our wrap party on June 4th. Along with our audience vote we will have two special judges just for these awards.
Our second judge for Best Poster and Best Trailer is J. dax Parise!
His bio:
J. dax Parise is a filmmaker and creative leader known for building work that is cinematic and trusted. As the Founder and Executive Producer of Untitled Content, he has positioned his Pittsburgh-based studio as a go-to partner for brands that want story-driven content engineered for how people actually watch, share, and engage.
Dax has led the creation of hundreds of campaigns spanning commercial, branded, and documentary storytelling. His work crosses industries - from fashion and healthcare to finance, sports, and tech - with clients including Aerie, UPMC, the Pittsburgh Steelers, T-Mobile, and Bank of America. Across platforms, his projects have generated millions of views, with standout work proving that a well-crafted trailer or short-form piece can drive impact at the same level as the film itself.
At the core of his approach is a belief that modern storytelling demands both creative instinct and strategic precision. Under his leadership, Untitled Content operates as a fully integrated studio - bringing together strategy, production, editorial, and motion design - to create work that moves fast, hits harder, and connects deeper.
His work has earned multiple industry honors, including Tellys, Webbies, and ADDY Awards for video editing and branded content.
Beyond client work, dax is deeply invested in the filmmaking community. He actively supports emerging creators and independent projects, helping to create more access and momentum for the next wave of storytellers.
As a judge for the 48, dax brings a clear point of view: great work stands out immediately. It’s not just about polish - it’s about ideas, execution, and the ability to make an audience feel something in a very short amount of time.

Proud to help bring important stories to life with UPMC. Meaningful work, trusted partners, and content built to connect with real people. Grateful for every opportunity to create in our hometown and beyond.
Dear Earth Day,
I’m sorry we paved over your wildflowers.
Sorry we treated oceans like ashtrays
and the sky like it would never leave.
Today I’m wearing black, but rooting for green.
Plant something. Pick something up.
Drive less. Care more.
Hold this planet like it’s the last good song that understands you.
The earth kept spinning for us through every bad year.
Least we can do is love it back. 🌎
From lighting up the boards at Pittsburgh International Airport, to being part of the energy surrounding the NFL Draft, to creating meaningful work with UPMC, we’ve had the chance to do what we love in the city we love.
Pittsburgh keeps showing up for us, and we never take that lightly.
Blessed for the opportunities. Hungry for what’s next.

Happy Chinese New Year.
Here’s to fresh starts, bold moves, and a year filled with momentum.
May it bring prosperity, good health, and the kind of luck you make for yourself.
New energy. New opportunities. Let’s make it count. 🧧✨
America turns 250. Let that sink in.
Two and a half centuries of grit, risk, reinvention, and big ideas that changed the world.
Today we kick off a journey across the country—state by state—celebrating the people, places, and spirit that built it.
First up: California.
From the cliffs of Big Sur to the streets of Los Angeles, from Silicon Valley innovation to Central Valley agriculture, California is ambition at full volume. It’s storytellers and startups. Surfboards and space tech. Vineyards, redwoods, and relentless belief in what’s next.
This is the United States at 250. Diverse. Bold. Unfinished. Still building.
California, you’re up. 🇺🇸
