Weekends like this remind me why I love being part of this music community.
Friday night at the
@pariscatjazz playing jazz and soul with an incredible band, backing two amazing artists —
@nardiamusic and
@iamiseula . Thank you both for being so welcoming and for the effortless way you do what you do.
Then Saturday at the Geelong Jazz Festival
@geelongjazzandbluesfestival . Ben Wicks
@bluesroulette , you’re someone who constantly brings people together to make music and build community. Getting to play guitar alongside you and Johnny on drums, with
@jkvalach Jesse and Iseula singing, is one of those musical moments I’ll always remember.
@jkvalach , your heart and soul comes out in your music and I’m really thankful to get to play with you.
Iseula, you have one of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard. Really looking forward to many more gigs together.
And then
@franksultanamusic Frank Sultana jumped up for the encore and absolutely brought the house down.
But what really stood out this weekend was the community.
Musicians watching each other’s sets.
Taking the time to come up afterwards and share the love.
And the crowd — so many familiar faces.
Week after week you show up to support live music and I’ll never stop appreciating that.
And a big thank you to my driving buddy Iseula — the road chats and hangs are always the best part.
What a weekend. Grateful for this community.
If you were there, tag someone you shared the music with.
