In 2021 I volunteered at animal shelters to find the perfect buddy. And along came Dewey. Named after Dewey from Malcom in the middle. This cat showed me how to lead with love each and everyday. He was there for me always. Even when I wasn’t there for myself. Anyone that knew him knew how special he was. My lover boy.
This morning, we found out Dewey had heart desease. An enlarged heart. Crushing, but beautifully symbolic for who he was. Over the last 4 years he’s been with me on every adventure. Every up and down he was right by my side. Choking on his purr’s cause he had so much to give. He was my best friend. I’ll never lose what Dewey gave me. And I’ll forever try to lead by this sweet sweet kitties example. With love.
If this was his destiny, I’m so damn grateful I was able to give him my everything. To go through life giving him everything I could. I wish I had given him more treats. I wish I gave him more pets. I wish he was able to go outside one last time. His favorite place to be. I’m so grateful for the past four years. I’m so grateful for Dewey.
My soul is crushed. But I’m forever grateful he was my boy. My sweet Doobie boy.
Rest easy buddy. I’ll miss you forever.
