The moment that started the project that we now call Résumé.
If you enjoyed watching Résumé, you have
@codyhunt155 to thank. This clip changed everything.
Now that the movie is out I want to go back and tell the story a bit more in depth than we in the movie and explain how this whole hing went from getting clips with friends, to some type of video project, and eventually becoming what people call a “full length sled film”.
I
@thisismattbaker have been filming action sports for over 10 years and have always spent a little bit of time collecting clips of friends snowmobiling each winter. I would exchange clips for lessons and ski pulls becoming a better sledder and backcountry drone pilot.
Last season was different. I had some scheduling free up early on during the winter and was spending more time on the snow with our original crew of
@hahnzack @themoderncowboy @austin_lobner @codyhunt155 .
Early in January we went to one of same spots we normally go for the guys to send.
@codyhunt155 Does what he normally does sits back on the sideline with me watching the guys send. After a few big hits I see him get geared up.
I have one rule with filming with
@codyhunt155 . When he puts the helmet on, I press record and don’t stop until his sled is off. You never know what you’re going to get of the guy. Luckily I did just that and it resulted in one of my favorite sledding shots I had gotten up to that point.
Everyone knew that hit was different. We’ve seen it hit 100’s of times but not with the same loft. We sat around and watched the drone screen in amazement for the next 30 minutes in aw of the jump and the footage.
From that point on our mentality of going out and capturing shots changed. That shot motivated me to do something bigger than just slapping it on social media to get some likes. The guys also saw this clip and became more motivated to not just send it bigger, but to make sure I was in position ready to film.
This origin story can’t be told without credit of past snowboard films of
@travisrice and
@curtismorgan that motivated me to move to the Tetons. This song is a nod to them.
