Ten years of ZeeZout Festival.
What started as a party for friends has grown into a staple of the Amsterdam festival landscape. In this interview with @eblive.nl , co-founder @stijnceelenofficial reflects on that journey and on what it means to stay independent in today’s market.
Because while the scene has grown, so has the pressure.
Rising costs, increasing regulation, and a system that makes it harder for independent organisers to take risks or invest in quality. In Amsterdam, even getting a festival off the ground has become a challenge in itself.
Ten years in, ZeeZout is still independent. By choice.
Not because it’s easy, but because it allows us to keep building on instinct, stay close to the scene, and create something that actually means something to the people on the dance floor.

After our first-ever show at Het Concertgebouw, we danced the weekend away at het Rijk van de Keizer: an intimate daytime party that truly lit up our ADE.

* Two magical daytime gatherings at @hetrijkvandekeizer , filled with amazing artists and a super crowd.
We’re deeply grateful for the love and attention from ADE Delegatie, the Mayor of Amsterdam, Het Parool, ANP, and 3voor12. 3voor12 even wrote a beautiful piece about our Saturday event at Rijk van de Keizer.
