Last Friday morning, my mom finished her journey and peacefully left us.
Despite everything, I am thankful we could share a few more moments together and will forever cherish the opportunity to tell her how much we love her.
She was a great mom and I look forward to celebrating her life next month in Indiana.

"Extended" is the conclusion of the last six months I have spent carrying the emotional burden of saying goodbye to my mother.
The boxes represent what is being "packed up and stored away" while my elongated arms show the effects of the ceaseless weight.
"Extended" is part of my ongoing series "MENTALS" which explores mental health through thoughtful imagery and media.
