What a night - woke up with a skip in my step today after such an amazing event 🤗 Hosting ‘not not a networking event’ at Treen was a dream come true. Thank you to each and every one of you for attending, being so wonderful, open and welcoming. It’s so special seeing so many people align and supporting my vision for Habits even though we’re so new. I have always dreamt of brining together like-minded individuals, helping people connect & widen their network. Massive thank you to @katiebambrickcoaching for sharing all her wisdom with us on how to navigate networking events and reminding us to show up as humans first and business owners second - We all need an event on how to public speak like this queen 👸🏼 The goodie bags were NEXT LEVEL - thank you to all the brand that sponsored the event, more content incoming 👀 Will I be seeing you at our next event? Sharing a little backstory with you all ✨ (I’m sure there is so much more we can delive into, but this feels right for now) I love hearing about the different chapters that shape people’s lives and how one decision leads to another, often in ways we never expect. It doesn’t always feel clear at the time, but looking back, you start to see the patterns. The things you loved, the things you didn’t, and the lessons that, even if they felt like detours, were actually moving you in the right direction. This is a reminder that every twist in the road is part of the bigger picture. And if you’re still figuring things out, you’re not alone. Trust that you’re getting there. 💫 #business #ukbusinessowner #entreprenuer #creativebusiness #edinburghnetworking #networkingevents #edinburghbusiness #edinburghnetworkingevent #creativeentrepreneur #scottishbusinessowner

Done is better than perfect 💥 @thisishabits Being creative it can be easy to live in the idea of something — After all it’s magical 🪄 everything goes smoothly up there 🧠, there are no logistics to work out or mindset work to push through. But the reality is, you have to step out your comfort zone and show up, not only for today – but the future you living the life you know is possible💪🏽 How are you working towards your goals? 🚀

Life is busy, which means it’s even easier to overlook the small wins when you’re building something. You’re always thinking about what’s next, what’s bigger, what still needs to be done. But those small moments matter more than you think. They’re usually the signs that things are actually moving forward. It’s also important to share them with the people around you, and build a community that can celebrate those wins with you, especially when you don’t have a team. What’s a small win you’ve celebrated, or maybe overlooked, recently? Some days you just have to choose to believe it’s all going to work out. Not because you have proof. Just because it’s a nicer way to move through the day. Worrying doesn’t change the outcome. It just makes the in-between harder. And the in-between is actually most of it. So make the coffee. Take the walk. Do the thing you’ve been putting off. Show up for the day like it’s already going in your direction. Because here’s the thing about manifesting. It’s not woo. It’s just choosing to operate from the reality where it already worked out. Where the money came in, where the business succeeded, where it all clicked into place. And when you think and move from that place, you start making decisions like someone who believes it’s already done. Is that delusional? Maybe. But time is strange, and the reality you choose to live in has a way of becoming the one you end up in. So yes. Act like it’s all going to work out. Because maybe it will. #businessmindset #creativeentrepreneur #businessowner #edinburghbusiness #businessevents

Nobody is going to give you permission to rest. That’s the part they don’t tell you about working for yourself. We took a weekday retreat this week and it reminded me of a few things. Remember to take time for yourself #foundermindset #founder #scottishbusiness #networking #communityevents

Working from home is great… until it isn’t. Sometimes you just need to get out, change your environment, and be around other people building things too. That’s exactly why we run co-working mornings at Mayvn. A welcoming space, good people, and of course, good coffee. Join us Wednesday 6th May. Tickets are live now. Link in bio 🤎 @mayvncafe

Some of the best conversations happen before the day properly begins 🤎☕️ Yesterday’s Before Work Coffee Morning at Browns of Leith was exactly that. Good people, good coffee, and a proper start to the day. We’d love for you to come along next time. We’re a welcoming bunch, and it’s a great way to start yours.

Another DITL with some thoughts throwing in there. I founded two businesses, and for a while I treated them as completely separate. Different audiences, different outputs, different ways of working. But underneath it all, the purpose is the same. It’s always been about helping people with creative ideas actually bring them to life. Sloe is about working closely with founders to get clear on their brand and direction. Understanding who they are, who they’re for, and how that shows up in the world. Strategy, identity, and building something that feels considered and lasting. Habits is about the people behind those businesses. Creating spaces and community so they feel supported, connected, and not alone in the process of building something. Two very different outputs, but the same intention. Because good ideas deserve to exist in the world, and the people behind them deserve support while building them. Some mornings are too good to end at 9:30. That’s why this month we’ve added the option to continue Before Work with a full co-working day at Custom Lane next door. Start the morning with coffee, pastries and good conversation at Browns of Leith, then head over with Alix + Ellie for a productive day of work in a beautiful creative space. A great option if you’ve been wanting to get out of the house, change your environment, and work around other people building things too. Sometimes all it takes is a better start to have a better work day. A couple of co-working spaces are still available for Thursday, with a handful of Before Work tickets left too. I filmed and edited this a couple of weeks ago, but it feels even more relevant now. A lot of what I’ve been reflecting on recently comes back to this idea, looking after the person behind the business. It’s easy to know what needs to change, but harder to actually listen to yourself and make those changes when you’re in the middle of keeping everything moving. Self awareness is a huge part of being self employed. Understanding what energises you, what drains you, what needs to shift, and being honest enough to respond to it. Still learning this in real time. Business advice | self employed life | DITL | Scottish business owner | entrepreneur #creativeentrepreneur #networking #businessowner #habitscommunity
