Yesterday I was at the gym doing my thing (wearing bike shorts) and this woman dropped me a note in between sets. She gave me a wink and let me go on with my day. When I opened the note, I laughed to myself because I was reminded of the silent, but inspiring power of authenticity…and of how far I can take this as an artist. I don’t even have to look outside of myself; I just have to show up as me. And that feels joyful, easeful, and sustainable 😅 For me, it’s not the scars that spark awe but the level in which one can show up fully in their body with their (visible or invisible) scars; not seeking attention, but seeking ~intention~. It’s not necessarily the art itself, but HOW the artist takes up her space that is the true art form.
Now IMAGINE where we could take this. You and I. Together. I can’t do this without you. Imagine all the people who can feel seen simply by us existing out loud. It doesn’t seem far away, because this woman today reminded me that it’s already here 💛

“Headspace” is all about being in process, and making peace with it. The music video is exactly that. I tested out my used Super 8 camera and took a courageous leap of faith in hope it would even work at all. It’s beautifully imperfect, raw, and exactly what it was meant to be.
