Our Mammillaria Spinosissima Cactus in bloom. Just the right amount of sunshine, water and a tad of negligence does it well.

Always a joy to witness and be part of a wedding celebration. Thank you Chris Yap for sharing these lovely shots.

Today marks the official first day of temporal closure of This Flower Haus and already missing the forest inhabitants and sounds of nature. Though I’m pretty sure the squirrels would be happy with less human traffic at their forest homes.
Positive vibes for today! Count our blessings. A timely reminder to treasure all that surrounds us.
To our dearest customers
Following up on the government’s announcement today, we have to close doors from 4 April to 5 May (or until further notice). All scheduled appointments during this period will be postponed, if not cancelled. Do reach out to us directly if need be.
Stay strong, stay well, stay positive and stay home in such a time. We honestly can’t wait for this phase to be over and to open our Flower Haus again, to share the joy our place brings!

Making use of our slower days

Loose watercolour painting by @sarahlovespoppy at our cosy Flower Haus, accompanied with the occasional dappled afternoon light.
Sarah and her team are working towards releasing a series of online workshops, reinventing ways to connect with her students.

I read an article today about rebooting our computer when it’s hung or when all else failed. We are in an automatic mode when it comes to our devices — we just shut down and restart.
We didn’t know how to do that for ourselves and humanity until Covid 19.
Everyone has been going about in each individual business and forgot we could now come together and pause. We didn’t know it was possible for us beings to reset too.
Now we do.
As different nations and countries come together to see and fight the spread of this virus, we too began to see and find ourselves developing shared empathy and understanding.
As we go around our daily lives in this much unwanted situation, we really can feel, sense and live this contagious experience together. For once, we know how it feels to live through the same encounter. The world is praying to shift from this uncertainty and fear to hope.
Even through this tough event, I believe nature too is taking up this opportunity to heal itself.
We get to choose how to create the future we want to see when this passes.
But a reminder to all humans —
Humanity is totally dependent on Nature to survive. We are part of Nature. We need to do our part to protect it. Take your time now, develop that connection to nature!
Growth
—
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding wilderness, This Flower Haus takes on textural foliages, growing to be like a greenhouse. Perfect for lovers of the untamed greens.
