Meet our performer — Bowie Ma
Bowie Ma is a Hong Kong–born violist and violinist. She is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at New York University, where she also serves as Adjunct Faculty in violin and viola, after earning both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School.
Prior to her studies in New York, she was admitted to The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts at the age of fifteen as its youngest diploma student on full scholarship. She was later awarded the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Full Scholarship in recognition of her artistic excellence.
As a performer, Bowie has appeared in solo recitals and concert projects throughout Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, and mainland China. She is a two-time Grand Champion of the Hong Kong International Music Festival, later served as a judge for the competition, and is also the winner of the 2026 New York University Concerto Competition.
Beyond the stage, Bowie has served as Co-Chair of The Juilliard School Student Congress, founded the Bowie Music Concert Series, and led concert tours in Asia. She was awarded second place in the Miss Asia pageant and won third prize in the Guangdong division of the International Supermodel Competition.

Prelude, the first concert by Opus X, is designed for both newcomers and classical music lovers alike. Through works by Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Bloch, Prokofiev, Nadia Boulanger, and Piazzolla, this program takes you through 400 years of music in one evening!
Join us for a special concert in New York, followed by a wine and cheese reception.
