**GIA WEBINAR** As cultural institutions and funders navigate heightened political scrutiny, public pressure, and renewed culture wars, leadership in the arts is increasingly shaped by moments of choice. Decisions about funding, governance, and public engagement now carry implications not only for organizations, but for the public commons—the shared civic spaces, narratives, and relationships that make collective life possible. The conversation brings together cultural policy thinkers and city-based leaders working in places such as Seattle and St. Paul, alongside reflections informed by decades of cultural policy research and practice. Participants will explore how leaders make choices under pressure: how risk is shared or shifted, how belonging is expanded or narrowed, and how cultural inquiry can be protected even when cultural expression is contested. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, March 17 at 11am PT/2pm ET, for this 75-minute presentation. Learn more and register at the link in our bio 🔗

How do we make Seattle’s art scene stronger? With events like Scenius! Scenius is all about linking artists, creative thinkers, and organizational leaders with real-world tools to turn bold visions into reality - which is exactly what happened at our latest Scenius Social at the Washington 1000 building downtown. Seattle creatives came together to network and vision for funding and space opportunities. They also enjoyed a panel discussion with Yoon Kang O'Higgins @waterfrontparkseattle , Amy Nguyen @watershedseattle , and Ebony Arunga @206Langston on developing the creative sector in Seattle including where we’re going and how we get there. Watch the replay of the panel at the link in our bio! In addition to great conversations, we enjoyed mouth-watering bites provided by Afro-Indigenous local chef @liivforflavor , great drinks from @lucysbottleshop , hip-shaking music from @swayandswoonunit , and dynamic and hilarious energy from our evening's emcee, the storytelling artist @sharonnyreewilliams . Follow @shunpikearts , @ArtsFutureCo , and @thirdwaycreative to keep up to date and join us at our next Scenius Social coming soon! Scenius is a collaboration between Shunpike, Third Way Creative, and production and technology partner Future Arts. This event series is supported by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation @pga_familyfdn . Additional acknowledgment goes to our event partner Friends of Waterfront Park and media partner @TheStrangerSeattle .

In Bloom — a reflection on joy, care, and connection as determinants of health. The exhibition is also a reflection on my time as the inaugural Artist in Residence in Government for the City of Ottawa. On view @shenkmanarts until May 5th. We had a beautiful, intimate opening today; thank you to everyone who came through. After this run, the exhibition will continue at the Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre. I’ll be in the space this Saturday from 2–4pm if you’d like to come by, chat, and spend some time with the work. Would love to see you! #artist #ottawa
