Looking ahead at what’s coming up at Third Space:
Sunday, May 24 at 11:30 AM
As we move into summer, we’ll pause to take stock of our own harvest: the insights, blessings, and quiet growth that have unfolded in us over the course of the year. Through text study, art-making, and intentional reflection, we’ll explore what it means to gather what has ripened in us, and make an offering of it.
Wednesday, May 27 at 7 PM
Queer Jewish Movie Night: Tahara
Join us in a cozy and celebratory space for a screening of Tahara, followed by a thoughtful community discussion. Come to watch, reflect, and connect through a story that explores the complexity and joy of Queer Jewish life.
Wednesday, June 3 at 7 PM
The American Jewish Relationship to Israel and Palestine
With Dr. Oren Kroll-Zeldin and Dr. Sivan Zakai, two leading voices and siblings, this conversation explores how American Jews engage with Israel/Palestine and how we stay in relationship across differences.
Sunday, June 7 at 12 PM
A Taste of Third Space
An afternoon of music, community, and connection. From participatory singing to klezmer to beatbox bingo, sample the many ways we experience – and make! – music. Plus Judaica swap, space tours, and plenty of ways to jump in.
Come for one, come for all. We can’t wait to see you.
As sunset descends this evening, we welcome the final shabbat before Shavuot – the festival on which we celebrate receiving the Torah. And cheesecake. Because what we receive is divine, but what we do with it is also … divine. However you observe (or don’t!), may this shabbat bring you divine rest that prepares you for the revelation that is yours to receive.

Join us on June 3 at 7 p.m. for a thoughtful and timely conversation with siblings Sivan Zakai and Oren Kroll-Zeldin — two leading voices exploring how American Jews engage with Israel/Palestine.
Together, they’ll share insights from their research and open up a deeper conversation about what American Jews think about Israel/Palestine, and just as importantly, how we stay in relationship with one another even when we don’t agree.
Sivan Zakai is the Sara S. Lee Professor of Jewish Education at Hebrew Union College and directs major research initiatives on how young people learn about Israel. She is the author of My Second-Favorite Country and Teaching Israel.
Oren Kroll-Zeldin is the Anne and Nick Germanacos Associate Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies at the University of San Francisco and author of Unsettled, with work focused on American Jewish identity and social justice.
This is what Third Space does best — making room for complexity, curiosity, and connection.
Reserve your spot.
Some nights just stay with you. Our Night of Grateful Dead back in February was one of those — a room full of people who came for the music and left with something harder to name. If you were there, you already know. If you weren't, the recording is the next best thing. (The Dead would appreciate that we're keeping the tape circulating.)
With thanks to our partners at Pinecone Collective who did the videography! Watch it at the link in bio.

Queer Jewish Movie Night: Tahara
A cozy, celebratory night of film and community. Join us on May 27 from 7–9 PM as we screen Tahara, a coming-of-age story following two teens navigating identity, grief, and connection in unexpected ways.

Today can hold many emotions all at once.
For some, it is joyful and celebratory. For others it can be complicated and uncertain.
Today, we honor all who nurture, care for, show up, hold space, and love deeply — in all the ways that can look.
Wherever this day finds you, we hope you feel seen, supported, and held by community.
Happy Mama’s Day from all of us at Third Space. 💛
Shabbat begins later and later as the season progresses. The hours are the same, but they are arranged differently. That’s kind of what shabbat does for us – we’re the same, but arranged differently. Slower. More easeful. In the best cases, more joyful. However you observe (or don’t!) may this May shabbat bring you slowness, ease, and joy.
We’d love to have you help us welcome shabbat here at Third Space. Happy (Hour) Shabbat starts at 5 pm. Maybe we’ll see you at Third Space.
