“I QUIT” 🚬 11”x14” acrylics on cradled birch panel🚬well I finally quit smoking on April Fool’s Day 2025 after being a heavy chain smoker for nearly 17 years (half of my life). It’s something I’m pretty proud of myself about, which is also probably the first time I’ve genuinely meant what I was saying about myself, to myself, in terms of being proud of something I’ve done. I even enrolled back in college too because I owe it to that younger version of myself to pursue more difficult challenges and push myself to try and do better, be better. So anyway that’s what I’ve been up to just quitting smoking, working at a dreamy art program, and studying. I bought my first Apple laptop too so I really can’t fail these classes otherwise I’m going to look like a huge idiot.

⛓️SPIKED FLAIL⛓️(not for sale) 28" life-sized flail made of: Merino wool, felt, polyester thread, polyfill. Each stitch was hand sewn and tied, including the black embroidery for the wood grain, zero machine work. I'd guess easily well over one-thousand individual stitches. Handmade and custom created sewing pattern, completely original and one-of-a-kind. Holding this weapon is pretty surreal due to the sheer amount of polyfill used in it. It has a solid weight to it, easily one-handed with a shield or you could two-handed power stance to break enemy poise. It has passive bleed on it, with a dexterity requirement of 16 and a strength requirement of 19 - chance on hit to stun for 3 seconds. I definitely have some other sewing ideas down on paper I'm very excited to execute and share with you! 🧵 🪡

✨NINE GROOMSMEN PUPPETS✨ (Go to slide 10 to see my favorite puppet) hand sewn and tailored puppets, made of blizzard fleece, felt, wire rods, faux fur, cotton, denim, wool, foam, plastic. I got married June 1st, 2024 to my beautiful bride @lexalion - so of course I made all nine of my groomsmen puppet versions of themselves! I've never made puppets before, so of course I decide to make nine. These took me many months to make, and I wanted to find a creative way to celebrate and express how much these strong men in my life mean to me. Thanks gentlemen for standing up there with me.
