For those of you staying indoors these days, here’s an experiment for you to try out: brian eno’s ambient third speaker system. if you have a spare third speaker lying around, try hooking this concept up: the concept is that anything that is ONLY in one of the speakers in a stereo signal (right or left) will ALSO be produced in the third speaker, making any mono signal “stereo". this video is engineer josh smith and i installing the concept at the third man upholstery shop. a little help from the beatles revolver with it’s hard panned signals to help show it working. a scan of the original back album cover artwork explanation from brian eno for instructions on how to do it. - jack white III
