🥁🥁🥁 Introducing 🥁🥁🥁.....GRAY PAC! 💪 We've actually been around for a little while 😉 — but this year, we're scaling up. The stakes for this year's midterms are incredibly high, and the outcomes will reverberate for generations. As elders, we bring perspective to the fight for democracy. We remember a time when our institutions worked better than they do now, and we know what’s possible when people organize and show up. We have a unique and crucial role to play, and that's why every dollar we raise and every door we knock will help us secure and advance democracy and climate in our communities. Want to join the fight? 🟢 Link in bio to donate. 🟢 Volunteer here: graypac.org/events/

Renewables don’t just improve our chances of mitigating the impacts of climate change, but have direct and immediate benefits to quality of life. Better air quality, quieter cities, cheaper energy, to name a few. And many places around the world are already seeing these benefits. ▶️ If you haven’t had a chance to watch our conversation with Bill McKibben, click the link in our bio! Thank you to our friends at @350canada and the @chancentreubc for supporting this event, and to @picsclimate for providing funding. #climatejustice #climatecrisis #renewables #solar #windenergy

⚡️Our electricity bills keep going up while Georgia Power pours money into the campaigns of the very officials who are supposed to regulate them. That’s not democracy, that’s corporate capture. . This Wednesday, we’re launching the Georgia Public Service Commission Pledge for Public Trust, a public commitment for commissioners and candidates to reject donations from the utility companies they oversee and put the people of Georgia first. . 🗓 Wednesday, May 13 🕘 9:00 AM 📍 244 Washington St SW, Atlanta, GA 30334 . We’ll gather outside the Public Service Commission hearing, where commissioners are once again considering raising our bills. Peter Hubbard has already signed the pledge. Now we’re calling on every commissioner and candidate to do the same. . Georgia deserves regulators who answer to the people, not to Georgia Power, fossil fuel interests, and corporate lobbyists. Take action and join us: ⚡ RSVP for the press conference ⚡ Email commissioners and candidates ⚡ Join the campaign 🔗 Link in bio or visit: bit.ly/reclaimourpoweratl . P.S. The fight for affordable energy and public accountability continues on Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 PM at Atlanta City Hall. Join community members in opposing a proposed data center in Southwest Atlanta that would increase energy demand and put corporate interests ahead of neighborhood needs. Meet at 55 Trinity Ave SW, 2nd Floor Council Chamber. Bring a sign and wear shades of red. ❤️⚡ #ReclaimOurPower #PublicTrustPledge #GeorgiaPSC #StopUtilityCorruption #EnergyJustice ClimateJustice PeoplePower GeorgiaPolitics AffordableEnergy AtlantaPeoplesCampaign

On our 4th week on the road 🚴‍♀️ From unforgettable cycle stops to incredible hosts — and everyone who’s stopped by to learn, support, and be part of this journey — the generosity we’ve seen has been inspiring. A reminder that climate action isn’t a solo ride. We need each other to go farther, together. 🌎💚 #linkinbio to support

California Democrats: if we don’t unite behind one strong candidate, we risk ending up with the choice of two truly terrible MAGA Republicans for governor. I took the time to research the top contenders — their policies, endorsements, records, and who’s funding them — and I’ve come to this clear conclusion:Tom Steyer. Yes, he’s a billionaire — but since he took the Giving Pledge (to give away most of his wealth in his lifetime) and walked away from his company 16 years ago, he and his wife have spent all their time using his resources to fight for clean energy, labor rights, healthcare, public education, affordable housing, and holding fossil fuel companies accountable. That’s why he’s the only candidate endorsed by every major labor union (except the law enforcement - probably because of his opposition to ICE and racial profiling) and by virtually every environmental group. He even has the endorsement of Bernie Sanders’s organization, for Pete’s sake. Maybe because unlike the others, he fully supports the billionaire tax, and closing the corporate real estate tax loophole to raise millions to improve our schools. Oh, and single-payer healthcare. The list goes on. You can judge people by who supports them, and you can judge them by their enemies, too: PG&E has spent $10 million dollars trying to take him down because of his position on for-profit utility monopolies. By contrast, Becerra’s policies during his time in office made him the favorite of fossil fuel, with Chevron giving him the maximum donation allowable. Betty Yee, a lifelong CA public servant whom I really respect, dropped out and endorsed Steyer. Other Democrats need to follow her lead, today, right now: pull out and throw their support at a leading candidate before it’s too late. In my mind that candidate is Steyer: if we want REAL CHANGE, a real progressive and not four more years of the same; if we want creative solutions and financial acumen and perseverance and independence from special interests, Steyer is the only choice.

🔌☀️ Did you know that portable, plug-in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems could soon be available in Minnesota? Last year, Utah became the first state in the country to enact legislation allowing for the adoption of portable solar—small solar PV systems that are designed to be plugged into a standard wall outlet. This helps make generating clean, renewable energy more accessible to everyone - to lower our energy bills and reduce pollution from fossil fuels. Right now, the Minnesota Senate Energy Omnibus Policy bill includes language that would enable plug-in solar. ☀️ Visit sc.org/pluginsolar or link in bio to email your state senator today, and urge them to vote Yes on Plug-In Solar.

Everyone who participated in Sun Day last fall helped launch a nationwide campaign for, among other things, balcony or plug-in solar.

For decades, renewable energy was framed as an “unreliable alternative” to fossil fuels. We are now in a moment where geopolitics is proving the instability of an over-reliance on fossil fuels; meanwhile, solar and wind energy is getting cheaper and more efficient. As the rest of the world transitions, Canadians need to consider if investing billions into oil and gas infrastructure is the right path forward. Did you miss our event with Bill McKibben? You’re in luck! The talk was recorded and is now available on YouTube via the link in our bio. Thank you to @picsclimate for funding this event, and to @chancentreubc and @350canada for the support. #renewables #climatejustice #ubc #solar #windenergy

Arizona’s extreme heat worsens as the AZ Corporation Commission continues to approve gas pipelines and energy generation. We need solar and new clean energy Commissioners. #solarenergy #climateaction #extremeheat #vote #azcorporationcommission
