Shout out to Big Fellas comin in clutch, helping us feed so many people in the community. These guys have donated us food every time we’ve asked, no matter how busy it’s been for them they make the time. Giving back to Syracuse is very important to them and we couldn’t do what we do if it weren’t for great neighbors like them! This is definitely a spot we want to spend our money.

Alto Cinco has been so good to us and the community. They’ve donated delicious food to our monthly meal distribution as well as hosted a donation box for us and welcomed us to their market to share information about what we do. We can always count on them, they really care about the community. This is the kind of local spot we love to spend our money.

We can’t do what we do without neighbors like Recess Coffee! These guys are the best. They have been hosting our donation boxes so there is a convenient place for you guys to drop off all of your donations. They also donate us coffee each month so we can serve it to the community. Recess Coffee isn’t just a staple in the Syracuse community they really care about Syracuse and its people. The kind of place we want to spend our own money.

We’re so thankful to have such a good neighbor! Joannie, the incredibly sweet and generous owner of Brujas Aguas Frescas has been with us consistently since November. No matter how busy she is running her own wonderful business she makes time to cook, bake, give back to the community for no other reason than just being a good neighbor. This is where you should spend your dollars. You can find her every weekend at the Regional Market in the adorable purple building.

April’s Third Saturday was a blast! We had a flower shop for the kids, lemonade a menu of BBQ chicken or pulled pork with pineapple slaw with Mac salad and fresh fruit. The weather was great and it felt like a block party. It’s only going to get better! The community looks forward the each Third Saturday. We can’t wait for the summer and being outside. Requests we’ve gotten this month were for more cleaning products and toiletries. What you see in the video is what we had, if you’re looking for a way to give back please consider donation or volunteering. It’s a good time for everyone!

💛HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED MAKE THIS HAPPEN💛 We had such a good time at The Good Neighbor Market this weekend. Syracuse really came out to support all of these super talented artists and vendors. Thank you to everyone who was a part of it. With everyone’s help, we were able to $4,500 that will go directly to people in the community, in the form of food, clothing, hygiene products, toiletries, etc! We are so lucky to be surrounded by great supportive friends and community members who really care about the well being of humans. We cannot say enough about the incredible team behind Third Saturday itself, the vendors that volunteered their time, art, and effort, as well as Heather at the Song & Dance for help realizing this vision! *VENDORS: feel free to tag yourself in the comments and I’ll ad d you to this post! Thank you 💛💛💛*

Are you going to be able to sleep tonight? Because we aren’t sure any of us are going to! We are so excited to welcome all of you to the first Good Neighbor Market: A Market to Benefit Third Saturday. Arts, entertainment and community combined together to curate a fabulous selection of vendors for you to enjoy! As our final “What you need to know” post please meet your amazing hosts and our fabulous beneficiary! Third Saturday exists to strengthen community through shared resources, shared space and shared humanity. We believe in solidarity not charity, standing with one another, not above one another. Everyone deserves dignity, respect and support. Food is a right, not a privilege. Through community and collective care, Third Saturday creates access to information and a welcoming environment where neighbors uplift neighbors, barriers are broken and no one is left unseen or unsupported. Together, we build community. Together, we rise. Stone Age Pottery- Your friendly local pots dealer! Molly will be slinging gorgeous functional pottery that is thoughtful, whimsical and sturdy. This market would not be possible without her! She has dedicated her time and craft to this market! The Song & Dance is Downtown Syracuse’s premier multiuse venue/nightclub. Imagine if your local dive bar and gay bar had a baby and it watched too much Coyote Ugly. Family owned by two CNY natives who also are Syracuse residents. We pride ourselves on being a safe space for everyone. We host everything from touring bands, to local drag! We are so happy to host this event and see you all on Sunday! We will be donating a portion of our beverage sales from the day! We’ve included the vendor map so you can easily find your favorites! There will also be a community table with all sorts of different items up for grabs, raffles, flash tattoos, giveaways, food, beverages and more! Street parking is free on Sundays! At a pivotal point in our world where community matters more than ever, this market is a chance to join together and support each other. See you tomorrow!

Update-Check out our Amazon wishlist- Housewarming for Mr. C-link in linktree if you’d like to send him a gift! We met Mr. C late last year. He was outside in the freezing cold and we gave him a lift to one of our events. He didn’t talk but came to warm up for a little bit and get a meal. He’s been staying at a shelter for quite a while. Every month since he’s been coming to our events and looks forward to them. This month he wasn’t at the shelter to take the shuttle over. He came on his own because he just got an apartment. His outlook has because much more positive and when he talked to us this month, in his words “my cheeks hurt, I can’t stop smiling.” Even though he’s starting from scratch and has nothing, he says he’s inspired by how we’ve welcomed him in and he wants to pay it forward and he’s been doing what he can for the friends he has that are still unhoused. It made our day to see him so happy and positive. If there’s anything that you’re willing to give him that’s in good shape he’s in need of EVERYTHING. Bed (he’s very tall so bigger than a twin is preferred) Dishes Pots/pans Pantry items Cleaning products Any furniture Towels Toiletries Literally anything. DM if you have anything to spare
