Thank you to everyone who made this past Saturday at the Monmouth Mischief with the Wye Valley River Festival a day to remember! 🌿✨ On behalf of Think Creatively, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable day. The energy was electric ✨️ One highlight of the day was coming together with the children from this years School Outreach Programme marching down the High Street with the giant totem created by the community with @aracelipuppetheatre and @anna_vigurs_art . And then joining us to see their pictures exhibited and invited to our story yurt where their stories came to life through the legend of Mozz of Earth and Stone. Bryn Celli Ddu Ancient Archaeology Alive will return to the beautiful island of Ynys Môn on the 13.06.26! 🌀🪨🌞🌀 Bryn Celli Ddu & its surrounding landscape is truly magical. One of the most important aspects of being there is the fabulous surroundings: the monument is not only beautiful but is also one of the most important and best-preserved examples of a Neolithic passage tomb in Cymru, dating to around 5,000 years old. Come & find out more about this special place, & enjoy a day of living history, guided tours, find out more about our current excavations, exhibits, live demonstrations, flint knapping, pot making, geology displays, food demonstrations and a range of hands-on experimental archaeology activities for all the family. HUNDREDS of mythical characters have arrived in the Wye Valley! ✨🌱 Over the last few months, schools across the Wye Valley have been digging deep into the “Rare Earth” theme. The result? Hundreds of mythical characters inspired by the soil, the stones, and the spirit of the Wye. The landscape is now officially populated by a whole new generation of folklore! 🌍🪨 📍 See them join together alonside 2 giant puppets inspried by their creations : Saturday, 2nd May at the Monmouth Festival Parade! And we will then head to Drybridge Park. A day of Monmouth Mischief! ................. Mae CANNOEDD o gymeriadau chwedlonol wedi cyrraedd Dyffryn Gwy! ✨🌱 Dros yr ychydig fisoedd diwethaf, mae ysgolion ar draws Dyffryn Gwy wedi bod yn cloddio'n ddwfn i'r thema "Daear Brin". Y canlyniad? Cannoedd o gymeriadau chwedlonol wedi'u hysbrydoli gan y pridd, y cerrig, ac ysbryd Afon Gwy. Mae rhywbeth mor ymlaciol am nyddu patrymau i mewn i bren wrth i’r tymhorau newid. Diolch o galon i bawb a ddaeth i ymuno â ni. Diolch arbennig i Angela am ddod â’r Fara Brith mwyaf blasus erioed—y tanwydd perffaith ar gyfer diwrnod o greu! 🫖🍰 Gyda’r haul yn tywynnu arnom, fe gymeron ni eiliad i fyfyrio ar y dechreuadau newydd y mae’r cyhydnos hwn yn eu cyflwyno. Basking in the glow of a beautiful Spring Equinox! 🌞✨ Yesterday was truly amazing @dtzcymru , spent learning the intricate art of Kolrosing with the wonderful @manongardd . There is something so grounding about etching patterns into wood as the seasons shift. A huge Diolch! to everyone who joined us. A special shoutout to Angela for treating us to the most delicious Bara Brith—the perfect fuel for a day of making! 🫖🍰 With the sun shining down on us, we took a moment for a small reflection on the new beginnings this equinox brings. @thinkcreativelywales and @anna_vigurs_art have reached the half way stage of our school outreach workshops across the Wye Valley. The Mythical Creatures of Lydbrook Primary are looking fantastical. Well done everyone! Yn tarddu o dechneg Sgandinafaidd hynafol sy'n dyddio'n ôl i gyfnod y Llychlynwyr, mae Kolrosing yn dechneg o dorri llinellau a phatrymau ar bren gyda blaen cyllell. Ar ôl i'r patrwm gael ei greu, caiff amrywiol bowdrau naturiol eu rhwbio i'r pren gan amlygu'r patrwm, bron fel tatŵio'r pren! Byddwn yn creu patrymau a bydd pawb yn mynd â chofrodd kolrosing o'ch creadigaeth. ................ Introduction to Kolrosing 20th March 10am - 2pm at Down to Zero, Pontyclun Connect with nature and try something new! Join Manon as she shares the relaxing craft of Kolrosing. Originating from an ancient Scandinavian technique dating back to the Viking times, Kolrosing is a technique of incicing lines and patterns onto wood with the tip of a knife. Once the pattern has been created, various natural powders are rubbed into the wood, highlighting the pattern, almost like tattooing the wood! We will be creating patterns, and everyone will take away a kolrosing momento of your creation. Get in touch if you live in RCT. There are a few places left @downtozero @manongardd

Diolch i'r holl ysgolion ac athrawon am eich holl gefnogaeth ac i'r holl blant am rannu gweithdy dychmygus gyda ni. Roedd yn rhaid i ni rannu rhai o'r cymeriadau chwedlonol hardd hyn gyda chi. .................... 🌟 What a wonderful week of creativity in the Wye Valley for @wyevalleyriverfestival working across 4 schools, Weston Under Pennyard, Ashfield Park, Clearwell and Lydbrook to create mythical characters and future folklore stories based on the local landscape. Thanks to all the schools and teachers for all your support and to all the children for sharing an imaginative workshop with us. 🌟 Am ddiwrnod gwych gyda @manongardd , a gynhaliodd ei gweithdy cerfio cyntaf gwych @dtzcymru heddiw. Dywedodd Manon ei bod hi'n llawenydd rhannu ei chariad at gerfio gyda'r gymuned a chael y cyfle i ddysgu sgiliau newydd. Cafodd pawb hwyl yn gwneud 🍄 madarch bach, a gwnaeth pawb yn wych wrth gerfio eu llwy eu hunain. Mae hi'n falch iawn o'r grŵp. Tra gwnaethon ni rannu cawl cenhinen a thatws hyfryd wedi'i wneud o @llysh.bocs yr wythnos hon 🥣 ............... 🌟 What a fantastic day with @manongardd , who ran her fantastic first carving workshop @dtzcymru today. Manon said It was a joy to share her love of carving with the community and being given the opportunity to teach new skills. Everybody had fun making a small mushroom, and everybody did fantastically at carving their own spoon. She's really proud of the group. While we shared some beautiful leek and potato soup made from this week's @llysh.bocs Da iawn pawb ❤️ Diolch Manon for carving us a bespoke spoon with the Think Creatively logo. 🌟 We are excited to share that today we launched the Schools Outreach Project as part of the Wye River Valley Festival, Rare Earth 2026. We would like to thank all 8 schools that joined us for the online Launch and to @aracelipuppetheatre , @anna_vigurs_art and @wyevalleyriverfestival We can't wait to meet everyone in person and to prepare for the parade in Monmouth on the 2nd of May. .................. 🌟Yn gyffrous i rannu ein bod ni heddiw wedi lansio'r Prosiect Allgymorth Ysgolion fel rhan o Ŵyl Afon Gwy, Prin Ddaear 2026. With Dydd Santes Dwynwen coming up we shared the story, looked at the history of the heart shape and took a moment to reflect on what love means to us?
