'With We Are Making a Film About Mark Fisher, artists Simon Poulter and Sophie Mellor set out to explore what it means to “manifest” a work using social media over a year of research, social media conversations and creative collaboration.
The film moves through the key ideas that defined Mark Fisher’s thinking - hauntology, capitalist realism, the CCRU, K-punk, and the unfinished concept of ‘acid communism’. In the film we also meet people who knew or worked with Mark Fisher, including Jodi Dean and Andy Beckett.'

'Sbaen' means 'Spain' (Mediterranean country in Europe) in the language or Welsh, and is pronounced somewhat like the English 'spine' (bone-conglomeration of the back and also of the book and also of the human disposition, et cetera). We are seeking all reflections and musings for consideration ~ we'd adore and be fascinated to hear all investigations into these strange associative words. This AHRC funded PhD scholarship is a unique opportunity for a theatre or performance maker to develop an innovative practice-based project focused on developing public performance interventions at National Botanic Garden of Wales (NBGW). The project will develop performance interventions that enhance visitor engagement with the ecology of the Waun Las Nature Reserve and the species-level conservation work of the living collections, seed bank, and herbarium at NBGW.
