Made from rich, structured fabrics (Aso-oke and ankara), it's carefully tied by hand into stunning sculptural shapes that frame the face and get attention.
Not just a headwrap, but also a symbol of elegance, identity. It's worn during celebration like weddings, naming ceremonies, and cultural events.

Through a spun effect, Girma created dynamic portraits of people on bikes in the streets of Marrakech, Morocco; Jinja, Uganda; Bamako, Mali; and Yirga Chefe, Southern Ethiopia.
