@bexcreatures decided to make an update to one of their first patterns and I hope I did them justice. I really pushed myself with free-handing the colorwork and painting some fabulous horns 🫣 Plus I got to combine my 2 favorite artisans for yarn and accessories. I wouldn’t be able to make such creations without Bex and Dani’s talents. Friends told me that the first kirin gave Perry the Platypus vibes iykyk so i had to give them a friend and fedora too

Grasslands Dragon is ready to sploot and charm its way into anyone’s heart. Dani’s ever devoted and slightly feral testers have been asking for a sploot pose for almost a year and we finally have one! It was definitely worth the wait. The shaping and attention to detail is next level. This pattern is compatible with all of the other OSD style patterns for even more poses. Sneaky peak of some other poses I had a blast making. I decided to make a memorial cat-erpillar for our beloved old man siamese Neko who passed recently. He loved supervising and inspecting new makes as well as smelling spring flowers. We miss him every day ❤️
This friendly little fellow has been put thru its paces and tested in every size imaginable! Literally! The dreamiest merman is ready for his release! This was a true labor of love and I love how it turned out! @mushroom_fables_crochet has been working on this design for years and its worth the wait. With so many mermaid patterns available, where was our mermen? The attention to detail is next level. Tara’s shaping in the chest and arms is fabulous!

I had the PERFECT flowery eyes for this project… only issue was they are huge 😅 so bulky yarn it is! My dragon ended up 3x bigger than the worsted weight yarn made by @catie.perry1 (last photo is my dragon holding hers like a baby 🤣)

I nicknamed my first test dragon “Big Boi” and then had a feral thought (as one does 😉)… what if I made an even bigger Big Boi…. so “Mega Big Boi” was made (had to special order the biggest eyes @bexcreatures had for this beast!) … and then as we neared the release of the book it was only fair to go polar opposite and make “Tiny Boi” 🤣

As soon as the @bexcreatures testers (aka the Crash Test Dummies) got their hands on this kelpie pattern, we had a huge debate about what exactly a group of kelpies are? A herd? A pod? A forest? None of those fit, so what did we do.... combine them as one does! A hool? A scherd? Spod (a school-pod-herd)? A perd (a pod-herd)?
Honestly we think perd fits the best.... half mammal, half fish, all chaos
