ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SALUTE
salute (Felix Nyajo) is an Austrian producer and DJ known for fast, soulful house shaped by UK garage, techno and French house. Introduced to R&B and ’90s hip-hop at home, they began producing on FL Studio as a teenager and started uploading to SoundCloud in 2012, gaining early attention for a remix of Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat.”
After moving to Manchester, salute released Gold Rush and My Heart, followed by the Condition I–III EP trilogy (2018–19). They’ve since collaborated with artists including Charli XCX, No Rome, George Daniel, and Sammy Virji.
Their 2023 EP Shield - their first to feature their own vocals - charted at No.12 on the UK Official Vinyl Singles Chart, and in 2024 they were nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Act at the MOBO Awards. That same year, salute released the album TRUE MAGIC, which reached No.5 on the UK Dance Albums Chart.
Beyond music, they’ve championed greater representation in live lineups through an inclusion rider requiring underrepresented artists on shared bills.
