MAHARLIKA. A concept project I’ve been working on for a month now.
I’ve always wanted to contribute something to my own country, and I thought this would be a good start. This is a tribute to the motherland and a way of showing appreciation for our very own culture.
This is a universe/world I designed—imagining what the Philippines would look and feel like if it was never conquered in the 1500s. A lot of things are still under development, and I’m still writing the storyline.
Here’s the first teaser. I plan to keep posting more content from now on.
I also produced and composed the song, sampling elements from the Filipino world music band “Pinikpikan”. I’ve been listening to most of their songs, and they really inspired me. I’m planning to release more songs for this concept project as well, and I’m excited to be back in my creative flow.
