12 years ago I opened a tiny bakery from scratch with a dream, a mixer, and a whole lot of determination 💚 For YEARS people drove by our little corner building across from Taco Love & G&A wondering what was even inside 😂 Then a few months ago my post about business struggling went viral, people saw me on the news, and suddenly after 12 years… people started discovering The Yummery 🥹 What people don’t always see behind the cupcakes and cakes are the YEARS of people growing up here with me. Today one of our own is getting married 💜 Brie — the girl with the purple hair from the news video — started working for me back when she was at Eastern Tech. Last night Mary and I stayed until 10 PM finishing cakes… and today I get to go watch Brie walk down the aisle after making her wedding cake yesterday. 😭 That’s the part of small business ownership nobody really talks about.The people become family. Things have slowed down some recently, and that’s the reality of small business life — but we’re still here every day doing what we love.
