For nearly two decades, the Burj Khalifa has stood as the ultimate symbol of architectural ambition — defining Dubai’s skyline and holding the title of the world’s tallest building at 2,717 feet.
But Saudi Arabia is preparing a response on an even bigger scale.
Construction on the long-delayed Jeddah Tower has officially resumed, with the project expected to reach a staggering 3,281 feet upon completion in 2028 — placing it more than 500 feet above the Burj Khalifa.
If completed on schedule, Burj Khalifa’s historic reign will end after 18 years at the top.
What makes the race even more fascinating is that Jeddah Tower is projected to cost less despite aiming significantly higher.
