“I’m a bad mom” - how often do you have this thought? Maybe after you snap at your kids for being too loud or lock yourself in your bedroom to get a couple minutes by yourself. Did you know that most of the things that we would consider to be a “bad mom” trait is actually an overstimulated central nervous system? 1️⃣ being irritable or short tempered 2️⃣ needing time alone or away from your kids 3️⃣ physical pain or tension 4️⃣ struggling to keep up with everything These are not traits of a “bad mom” these are signs that you need relief! I have a solution for you! LENS neurofeedback. LENS neurofeedback will: 🌊regulate your central nervous system 🌊promote self soothing 🌊clear up brain fog 🌊increase motivation & so much more! If you are looking for an easy, effective and accessible way to get rid of your stress- go to the link in my bio and schedule an intro call with me! Send to a fellow mama that could use some relief 🤍 #overstimulatedmom #overwhelmedmom #fairfieldcounty #fairfieldctmoms #westportct #westportmoms #momstruggles #overstimulatedmama #neurofeedbacktraining #neurofeedbacktherapy

Feeling like a ‘bad mom’? Let’s set the record straight. 🙅‍♀️ So many moms carry guilt because of these unrealistic myths we tell ourselves. Let’s debunk them: ✨ Myth #1: ‘If I lose my patience, I’m a bad mom.’ Truth: Losing your patience is normal. What matters is repairing and reconnecting afterward. ✨ Myth #2: ‘Good moms never need a break.’ Truth: You can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. ✨ Myth #3: ‘If my child misbehaves, it’s my fault.’ Truth: Kids are learning how to regulate their emotions, and their behavior doesn’t define your parenting. ✨ Myth #4: ‘If I can’t do it all, I’m failing.’ Truth: Nobody can do it all! Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Moms, let’s stop being so hard on ourselves. You’re not a bad mom—you’re a real mom. Let me know in the comments which of these myths resonates with you the most? Save this post for when you need a reminder 🤍 #motherhoodunplugged #modernmotherhood #parentsupport #childtherapist #therapistformoms #overwhelmedmamas #fairfieldct #westportct #selfcareformoms

Some kids aren’t “misbehaving.” They’re overwhelmed. And sometimes what looks like: • defiance • emotional outbursts • shutting down • rigidity • avoiding demands • difficulty focusing • sensory meltdowns • “overreacting” …may actually be a nervous system that’s struggling to cope. A lot of neurodivergent kids spend years feeling misunderstood. They may start to believe: “I’m too much.” “I’m bad.” “Why can’t I just do what everyone else can do?” And honestly, parents often feel overwhelmed too — trying everything they can to help their child while wondering what they’re missing. This is where neuro-affirming therapy can make such a difference. The goal isn’t to “fix” who a child is or force them to fit into a mold. It’s to better understand how their brain and nervous system work so they can feel: ✨safer ✨more regulated ✨more confident ✨more understood At The Wave Effect Therapeutic Solutions, our licensed therapist, Haley specializes in working with neurodivergent children, teens, and adults navigating autism, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, sensory challenges, and emotional overwhelm using a compassionate, neuroaffirming approach. Sometimes the biggest shift is finally feeling understood. If this sounds like something you or your family are looking for- Haley is now accepting new clients! Reach out with the link in my bio to set up a private consultation call to see if it’s a good fit! Or reach out here: 📲 203-464-2947 (text friendly) 📧 [email protected] 🤍 #Neuroaffirming #ADHDSupport #AutismSupport #OCDSupport #neurodivergentkids

If your child is constantly overwhelmed, anxious, or melting down—and you’ve tried everything—you’re not alone. And if you’re being honest… maybe you feel overwhelmed too. So many moms I talk to feel like they’re doing everything right… and still don’t have the answers—for their child or for themselves. That’s exactly why I’m so excited to share this with you 💛 We just welcomed a new clinician to our team, Haley, who specializes in working with neurodivergent children qnd adults (ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety, trauma)—using a neuro-affirming approach that helps you better understand what’s actually going on beneath the surface. Because it’s not just about managing behaviors. It’s about helping your child: • feel less overwhelmed • understand their emotions • build confidence in who they are And helping you: • feel more clear and grounded • stop second-guessing yourself • better understand your own neurotype and patterns Haley works closely with parents so you’re not left guessing—you’ll have a clearer plan and a deeper understanding of what actually helps. And for moms who are starting to wonder, “Wait… could this be me too?”—she also supports adults in making sense of their experiences, understanding how their brain works, and finally feeling more confident in it. If you’ve been feeling stuck, defeated, or unsure where to turn next… this might be the support you’ve been looking for. If it feels like a good fit, you can reach out to schedule a consultation: 📧 [email protected] 📱 203-464-2947 (text-friendly) We’re here to support you—so things can feel calmer, clearer, and more manageable at home and within yourself. #momlife #neurodivergent #adhdmoms #autismparent #ocdawareness anxiousmoms parentingsupport westportct fairfieldcountyct therapyforwomen neuroaffirming mentalhealthsupport

A lot of people think healing has to take years. One client recently told me this: “What would’ve taken me probably five years to process in talk therapy… I just processed in one session.” She showed up. She did the brave part. And her brain was finally able to process it. When the nervous system has the right support, change can happen faster than people expect. If you’ve been feeling stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, or patterns that don’t seem to shift, you’re not alone. Sometimes it’s not about trying harder — sometimes the brain just needs a different way to process what it’s been holding onto. If you’re curious about approaches like EMDR or LENS neurofeedback, you can reach out to me through the link in my bio and book a private consultation call with me! You deserve support that actually helps things move. ✨ Save this if you’ve ever wondered if healing could happen faster✨ #therapythatworks #emdr #emdrtherapist #ptsdsupport

If you’ve found yourself wondering, “is this just a phase… or should I get some extra support?” You’re not alone. Many parents reach out because their child has big emotions, struggles with transitions or separation, or seems easily overwhelmed — and they’re unsure what’s typical or when to step in. At The Wave Effect, we work with parents and children together to better understand what’s underneath the behavior, support healthier dynamics, and strengthen the parent–child relationship in ways that create lasting change at home. Child therapy doesn’t mean something is “wrong.” It can be a gentle, supportive space where children learn how to feel safe in their bodies, regulate big feelings, and build confidence — while parents feel supported too. ✨ Tina, our child therapist, is currently accepting new clients and specializes in working with children from birth through age 7. 📍 In-person in Westport, CT 📩 DM us or use the link in our bio to set up a free consultation!

So many people think trauma has to mean something extreme — but trauma is really about how your nervous system experienced something, not how it looks on paper. When memories don’t get fully processed, they don’t stay in the past. They show up as: • big emotional reactions • feeling easily overwhelmed • anxiety or panic • shutdown or numbness • feeling “stuck” even when you know you’re safe EMDR helps your brain do what it was meant to do: ➡️ process memories ➡️ reduce the emotional charge ➡️ move experiences out of “present danger” and into the past It’s not about reliving everything — it’s about helping your nervous system finally complete the process. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means remembering without reliving. If you’re curious if EMDR can help you 👉🏼 click the link in my bio to schedule a free 15 minute intro call to learn more!
